The GOP has some favorable pick up opportunities in 2014. We'll see if they manage to frick it up a la Mourdock, Akin, Angle, O'Donnell, Berg, etc.

You'll probably see Obama weighing in on some of those vulnerable seats in 2014, where he goes is where the money would go I would think.

No, that's good. Midterm elections are usually won by the party not occupying the White House.

Romney won by large margins in the three main frick up's states this year: Mourdock, Akin and Berg. He was hardly a drag on those candidates.

It seems Democrats never split their ballot. Look at that disgraceful manipulative liar who defeated Scott Brown in Ma. Look at Jesse Jackson, jr. who is apparently still acutely mentally ill.

That blind, indiscriminate willingness to vote dem no matter what is a huge asset to that side

Big IF.

Regarding 2012, 2014, 2016 (from Wiki):

2012
quote:

Elections to the United States Senate were held on November 6, 2012, with 33 of the 100 seats in the Senate being contested in regular elections whose winners will serve six-year terms from January 3, 2013 until January 3, 2019. The Democrats had 21 seats up for election, plus two independents who caucus with the Democrats, while the Republicans had only ten seats up for election.

2014
quote:

Elections for the United States Senate will be held on November 4, 2014, with 33 of the 100 seats in the Senate being contested in regular elections whose winners will serve six-year terms from January 3, 2015 until January 3, 2021. Additionally, special elections may be held to fill vacancies that occur during the 113th United States Congress. Currently, Democrats are expected to have 20 seats up for election, and Republicans are expected to have 13 seats up for election.

Then it gets interesting...

2016
quote:

Elections for the United States Senate will be held on November 8, 2016, with 34 of the 100 seats in the Senate being contested in regular elections whose winners will serve six-year terms from January 3, 2017 until January 3, 2023. Additionally, special elections may be held to fill vacancies that occur during the 114th United States Congress. Currently, Democrats are expected to have 10 seats up for election, and Republicans are expected to have 24 seats up for election.
