I want to discuss interesting demographic statistics from election and the exit polls.
I'll start.
According to Cnn's exit polls:
Obama won 70% of the Asian vote and 69% of the Jewish vote nationally.
Obama won 39% of the white vote nationally.
Obama won just 10% of the white vote in Mississippi and 15% in Alabama.
Obama won 50% of the Catholic vote
Obama lost every religious group in New Hampshire by a small margin, but made up the difference with a 3-1 ratio of victory in the 17% of voters who belonged to no religious group.

Barack Obama won 58.6% of the vote in the four largest counties in the Atlanta metro area. Fulton (64%), Dekalb (78%), Cobb (43%), and Gwinnett(45%)
He won 750,588 votes in these four counties. He won 1.7 million overall.

And those are the counties making the most money in Georgia, on the link I posted in another thread. BOOOOOOM. But they want handouts. yeah frickin RIGHT.

Among less than 30-year old voters: Obama 60%, Romney 36%.

One of the most fundamental differences was urban areas and the larger cities overwhelmingly supported Obama, while rural areas went Romney.
Due to that fact, I would guess other than the top say 1-5% of income earners, the higher income levels went Obama as well. Again excluding the "wealthy top percentiles".

The Alabama and Mississippi numbers certainly suggest such. No numbers in the rest of dixie.
In Maine, Obama beat Romney 57 to 40 in the white vote. In Vermont Obama won the white vote 66-33.

And where do people make the most money at, URBAN areas and suburbs. Unless you're working in some oil industry in rural Texas, ND, SD, Alaska, etc. But if you live in RURAL Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama you aren't making money. And your Urban areas voted for Obama, but they are still behind the northern Urban areas when it comes to yearly income, etc.
If people on this board believe blacks are sitting around wanting handouts, they are in for a rude awakening when they get out and travel the country. And I know for a fact that there's plenty of blacks down south working, making an honest living. Every time I go down there I see them working.
People on this board will have people from up north believing all blacks down south sit on their ass, don't work, wanting handouts,etc. What parishes, counties is this happening in because I can look up some stats for blacks on assistance then look at blacks in the workforce in those areas, total black population, etc.
In general blacks down south are more poor than blacks up north. Just like WHITES down south are more poor than WHITES up north. It's a fact of life, stop blaming everything on blacks. There's blacks up north that would eat these guys' lunch when it come to yearly earnings, net worth, etc

Georgia is trending purple. The democrats have gotten a huge lift from immigration.
If you look at white blue states, the better educated and more wealthy a voter, the more likely they are to vote for Obama.

he won just over half of those voters.. what half do you think the wealthiest voters were in?
Dekalb - his highest percentage won (78%)
- 67% minority population
- $49k median income
Fulton - his second highest percentage won (64%)
- 52% minority population
- $49k median income
Gwinnett - (45%)
- 56% minority population
- $60k median income
Cobb - (43%)
- 44% minority population
- $70k median income
the trends dont seem to support your ignorant post.. thats weird
and in the wealthiest county in Georgia, Forsyth, right next to these, Obama got 19% of the vote

I don't think Mormonism has too much to deal with it.
But it underscores the disconnect between the catholic church and the catholic people.
Catholics simply don't believe in large portions of church dogma. Social justice is a big deal in the Catholic church, though it's largely ignored in the deep south. As a former Catholic, I certainly relate.
