If it was all dubstep DJs you'd think it was important.

I must admit I'm old school. I bartended DJ Icey's birthday party that Micro threw for him in Dallas a few years back. I'm disheartened by the decline of America DJs on the world music scene (as a whole - a few have really stepped up, but not enough).

It's tough to keep up with world scene. Like you said, there are a few guys -- I'll toss out Diplo as another guy that I like quite a bit -- but when Russia is churning out EDM producers faster than female tennis players, it's gonna be an uphill battle for sure.

No way Showtek should have fell out. You are way off on Tiesto also, he has been a pioneer for many years and is still turning out ridiculous tracks on a number of labels. Avicii is not number one. Top 5 Yes. Not 1. You are letting your favorites skew reality which is Trance is hell of a lot bigger across the world and Armin is the guy and will be as long as he is Prodcuing/DJing ...

Also, if you really want to go toe to toe on DJs because of your affinity for Avicii, I would say that Nicky Romero had a better year overall. This is funny because these 2 collabed on a few songs last year and all of them were bangers. Here is Nicktim

As for my personal favs. Dash Berlin and Hardwell are probably where they should be imo (Easily My Favorite 2 Producers right now). I like Afrojacks style but no way should he be that high.

Headhunterz really surprised me only because Hardstyle turns so many people off BUT IS BY FAR MY FAVORITE GENRE BAR NONE!

Also you could def make a case for Dada and LBL to both be higher.

Overall good list but is definitely skewed towards European vibes. Which makes sense because the list is a lot bigger over there then it is here.

sorry but im not some dubstep junkie.

After scanning the list, there are some real shite "djs" on there. If I were to make a top 100 dj list, I would at least include skill behind the decks as one of the main factors that affect their ranking.

One drum and bass dj in the top 100 and its Netsky at 95?

Lets not include the biggest dnb dj in the world Andy C. Dude would mop the floor with the top 10 like it was his job.

No Friction, High Contrast, Sub focus, Dj Fresh, Chase and Status? List is shite

Looking at the list plenty of names are on there because of what they have done for the scene. If this is the case, where is fabio? grooverider? goldie? roni size? adam f, dj hype? These are some of the major players in the history of the dnb scene.

These DJ lists are always funny. They should just call it, the Best Marketing List.

Any list with Steve Aoki in the top 20 is a clown show.

This DJ list is garbage without DJ Trashy!

Kidding. I dont even listen to this kind of music. But went to high school and was good friends with Trashy so thought he should be mentioned on this thread.

Is he considered any good?

I used to work at Venue right after the hurricane and Trashy was there all the time. He's strictly a "local" guy... "regional" on his best day. No where near what the guys on this list are.

The list needs to be split up between live performers and producers.

I think the RA list is better. Less cheese more techno.

This... it usually is just filled with high profile(pop) producers or trance and house djs. It has been many years since I voted but one thing for sure is... Skrillex shouldn't be on it. I like the dubstep genre but he is just a tard. Not even sure he can mix

AVB being number 1 doesn't suprise me as he was always 2nd to Tiesto or Digweed or Sasha.

Personally I love breaks and couldn't tell you if any of these guys are breaks DJs or producers. As for as dubstep... Nero should be on here. PERIOD

Can ANYONE tell me how many USA DJs are on this list?

Great topic, would read again.

That list is retarded

Also, this.

He's probably the worst live EDM DJ i've seen. Absolutely zero mixing going on.

He just jumps around on stage throwing energy drinks and cake at people, its terrible.

Fact. He's the worst act I've ever seen.

But again, this list really isn't about DJing skills anymore...

That's the truth right there.

I'm not sure how you guys feel about it, but i personally like the transition from mixing on CDJ's and vinyl to artists mixing out of Ableton and/or other production/performance programs through a midi controller.

There are some guys out there that are insanely talented at it, but it's not "traditional" so it gets overlooked.
