Both Mack Brown and Bob Stoops are making over $5 million. IMO Les is better than either of those guys and should be paid accordingly.

He probably deserves it, but a bad PR move in these economic times, even though his salary doesn't come out of LSU's budget, except for a minimal base amount.

From an economic and performance perspective, absolutely.

Only if he hires the best OC available and pledges never to call or interfere with any offensive decision making process ever again and only acts as recruiting coordinator and public relations manager.

I think Miles is the type of guy who would forego a raise if it meant getting in an OC he really wants.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves though. Lets see how the offense unfolds for the rest of the season. The WRs, QB, and OL just got a ton of confidence under their belt. I also think its fair to say the coaching staff just saw what they have been wanting to see from the offense, and now that trust in the offense as a whole is there.

No way. Already over paid and the buyout is ridiculous.

We currrently have no chance to win the SEC West, the SEC, or the national title. Why, exactly, would this season merit a raise from his already substantial salary?

What happened to honoring contracts? He signed a contract that both he and LSU agreed to. When his contract is extended then you renegotiate salary.

This! His buyout is already ridiculous. Why should he get a pay raise just for doing his job? If we get to the point where we reward him for winning 8 or 9 games a year, then we're in trouble. On the flip side, if we finish strong and blow out a quality opponent in our bowl game, then maybe he should get a one-time merit increase, but definitely not a raise in salary.

$4 million per year coaches should not be making 4th and 12 and 54 yard field goal blunders.

Yes.

Give Les a $1M raise and then force him to go hire a qualified OC and then funnel that money to him.

A bump in salary? Sure...at Aubarn or Ar-kansas...not at LSU.
