Does the Sugar have to take a SEC team? If so is it the highest CBS ranked left or totally their choice? Not saying we have a shot, just curious.

CBS doesn't rank teams.

No but the Sugar will usually take LSU if we are in that range of teams they are looking at

There's no criteria really other than the BCS rankings and where the SEC Champion is going. The Sugar Bowl would prefer to take an SEC replacement team. If Florida loses it'll likely be LSU. Assuming Alabama beats Georgia.

The only rule is that they can't take a team from the conference the #2 team is in.

The Sugar Bowl hosts the Southeastern Conference (SEC) champion unless (under the current BCS alignment) the team is selected to play in the national championship game; in that case the Sugar Bowl can select a team at-large from any conference as the host team

They would take a 1 loss uf team over us, that would be fair. UGA gets anal raped by bama, and uf loses to fsu is LSUs best shot. we have to win out as well.

One guy predicted lsu ou in sugar, i would take that in a heart beat.

You would have bama oregon in the title game, nebraska oregon state in the rose, ksu nd in fiesta, ul fsu in orange. That would leave the sugar to pick 2 at large teams.

Except they can't take a team from the same conference as the #2 in the BCS standings- same reason the Rose Bowl couldn't take us a few years back.

What? The Sugar Bowl is primarily for an SEC team unless there are 2 SEC teams in the BCSNC, like last year.

Which is why they would pick between UF, UGA, and LSU as the team from the sec.

Primarily but not required, there has been talk that if the Sugar Bowl isn't given the new game between the SEC/Big 12, they will take Notre Dame with the 1st pick.
