didn't win two national title in a row. i still can't get over that. do you just think you're god's gift to your home state and anything less would be a disappointment? i mean when have you ever seen someone do something like that after a win...after a NC...

Were you even at the game? It was the most intense atmosphere I have ever been a part of and to win against all odds in that environment can really mess with your emotions as a player. AJ will never forget that moment.

I agree that it was a bit much, but they were 2 yards from losing (had we converted on the 4th and 2). He was happy and, unlike us, their national title hopes are still alive. I saw plenty of LSU fans crying after the game for a very different reason. You can bet there were some tears in the LSU locker room too. We snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. This one is gonna sting for a long, long time.

I have no problem with the kid for that. Football is an emotional game.

Besides which, I'm sure he was aware that we kinda dragged his mom through the mud with the pics and all. Must have been a little sense of retribution from him on that.

Were you present at either the 2003 or 2007 BCS title games? I was at both, and I saw plenty of Tiger fans crying tears of joy, especially after we beat OU. Same thing happened last year when we won in Tuscaloosa.

Unless I missed some quote I don't think his tears were because he almost didn't win 2 national titles in a row.

It was more a product of emotions from the game.

Having said that, it was still a bit much.

It was a remarkable accomplishment on his part. A drive that will forever be remembered by both teams for a long, long time.

Not many of us here have ever been in that type situation so it is not really fair to judge the kid. You go accomplish something extraordinary and let us know how you feel. Oh wait, I forgot, you were ALL-District. Congrats.

The closest thing I can relate to is watching the Saints win the SB. I cried like a baby. and damn proud that I did.

I'm not going to hate on AJ for being emotional after that TD pass.

He was crying just due to emotion- not because of almost losing, discus champ. You completely missed the point.

Mcarron had ALREADY experienced the defeat in his mind.
He was in agony. Absolute agony.
Then he suddenly had a glimmer of hope.
And then he had HIS "moment" on the field.
One that will define him in his community for a lifetime.
Against the baddest arse opponent in the world in an environment that Hollywood could not script.
And he got emotional.
It was authentic and not contrived.
If you don't get that, well too bad for you.
