i will say this about St. Thomas More... if you're not as good as you were, Warren Easton can absolutely end your season early Friday night... they beat East Jeff, played Holy Cross to within 1 point, and came back from 34-6 down against us to win.

QB reminds me a lot of MICKEY JOSEPH.... amazing what they have done with that school post katrina..

and OWL you are correct.. the Eagles can beat a lot of people.....

also watch shaw vs HC.... last time they played - was a very tough week for the folks on Barataria blvd away from football.- coaching staff and many around that school were very distracted

Rolling start my arse those frickers flat out cheat. In the Dome vs WM they didn't get set one single play and the refs didn't flag them once.

still run 95% of their plays with the same cadence and snap on same count?

Their entire line has a running start before the snap. They were massive that year too. Pretty much impossible to stop them every play. WM made a valiant effort, but came up short.

They pretty much ran two different plays the whole second half...Toss Sweep and Counter Trey. Ladarius Abrams ran all over them in the second half.

It is something that has always been done. Being someone who has played for Acadiana, you either have a sweep play on down or a regular play on 1. The quickness of the count has been in place as long as the offense has, and was done like that to offset the size difference (acadiana had small offensive lines back in the day) and to maximize the speed at which the linemen get off the ball, which are critical in a veer offense.

ETA: Coach Davidson could very well be the best offensive line coach in the state. Just thought I'd give him props and he is doing a hell of a job as head coach. He really is and has been the oil that runs the veer machine.

I think Davidson is a fantastic coach and a really nice man to visit with

If the Reffs throw the early illegal procedure flag the rams adjust, if the Reffs don't they will hammer you

This was one of the unspoken differences in the 2010 match ups between STM and AHS. In the week five game the Reffs were Lafayette Association and AHS couldn't push the issue with the rolling start. In the semi finals the crew was neutral and AHS pushed the issue and the Reffs allowed it.

No sour grapes here, That is just great coaching by Davidson in my book.

We have slow receivers so I think we'll let them get a 10 yard running start to offset their lack of speed. Oh that's not legal? Who cares?

Here is the thing with STM this year versus last year

They have one QB, one system and a much clearer identity on offense. Last year they split snaps and used Bergeron and the shotgun spread and Flores and the pistol. This year flores has graduated and they use Bergeron at QB 100% of the time and he is playing at a very high level

Bergeron 190/261 73%
2800 yards
9 INT
28 TDs

They also have a 700yd rusher and they prefer to run to pass but they will pass to run. So they are very tough to stop

The defense will give up some plays and they benefit from teams falling behind and getting out of their gameplan comfort zone

Not even this entire thread is about that, let alone the entire board.

Hyperbole is the worst thing ever.

Karr plays tonight at Behrman Stadium in Algier. I think they're playing Pineville.

They should move on pretty easily with the amount of talent they've got on that team.

Looks like from that video from the Karr game pressure is the way to go. Sounds like we might have a shootout Friday. WE can put up points.

We could throw in OCS, Curtis, and PBS if you like and just talk about who will win it all.
