and without the ungodly retarded playcalls, WITHOUT having to fire him

i don't want les fired. we couldn't afford it if he was, and our AD is likely to make a horrible hire anyway

it's just mind-numbing that he's still coaching scared AND that he makes such stupid playcalls so often. there has to be a way to get him to stop doing both short of firing him

I think he was coaching the opposite of scared, to be honest.

Does coaching scared mean making 4th down gambles and onside kicking? That doesn't add up.

At some points he was not coaching scared. Risky though, on sides kick, fake FG,etc. just not too smart in some situations

last night was an exception...not the rule. i was happy with the aggression

but he still managed to make some utterly horrible and retarded playcalls that made no sense. the biggest being the fake FG. the 2nd was when ware was playing QB and we tried to sneak it

He needs a QB he can trust. He trusted Flynn and its starting to appear he trusts Mett.

You no doubt have concocted your own definition of "coaching scared". He was aggressive and risky last night. Not scared. You're attributing your own set of motives on him.

so les inherits a stocked program in 2005 and finally in 2012 he's recruited a QB that he can trust?

Agreed. Didnt like either decision. But what are you talking about with this scared coaching?

The offense was opened up last night. 400+ yards on bama was pretty crazy.

Last night he did not coach scared. If he passes on 3rd and 8 before the last field goal and throws an incomplete pass, he would be crucified. Bama was out of timeouts, and very little time left.

Having said that, I would have like to have seen a spread formation, tailback draw there, or at least something that looked like a pass formation.

The fake was early and wanted to catch them off guard but did not.

The run with Ware was to not have it be Mett and to not fumble.

At least that is what I think. jmo

We ran an onside kick, a fake FG on 4th and 12, and went for it on 4th and 1 in FG range in the 4th quarter up by 3 points.

That's coaching scared?

What you're doing is living in hindsight. An aggressive play call that works is called genius. When it doesn't its called retarded. Problem is when you simply live and form opinions in hindsight- it sort of gives you a slight advantage- don't you think?
