So I guess we should be happy with a shot in the foot loss to Alabama and a previous blowout to Alabama, just like FSU was supposed to be happy they had the privilege of playing for all the marbles but went "wide to the right" for a couple of years in a row and lost out? I don't think they were happy and I am sure a lot of Tigers are not happy either. I'd like to see more flow than ebb with all this talent, but every year there seems to be some excuse. I'm not asking for #1 and MNC every year. I just don't like it when we do our own selves in, like yesterday. Like 1/9. Get it? It is very realistic to play your hearts out and lose legitimately and blame no one. Can you say honestly that yesterday we lost legitimately and did not shoot ourselves in the foot with that prevent defense after dominating the whole second half on defense and then conceding the Tide's winning TD by changing the D for that last possession? Do you really believe we didn't self-destruct versus Alabama (a mighty good team, true) on 1/9? If we'd lost to them in a mighty struggle, and without bonehead plays and questionable coaching calls, I'd say "ebb and flow" but no, in either case, we didn't.

This fanbase doesn't deserve a good team, and they are going to sit back and watch Gomer Miles flush one down the toilet.

I'm certainly not happy with the outcome, but I don't consider this a "shoot yourself in the foot" boneheaded choke-job. They called what they thought would win the game, it didn't work. For all of his strengths, Chief goes into protect mode late to decrease the chance of a long play and to cause the other team to have to burn up time with shorter plays. Should we fire him?

I love where LSU is now and where we are headed. Yeah, I wish we would open it up a bit more on offense but we're winning more games than most other programs so I'll take it. Also, even with my complaining, I'm pretty sure the coaches see more in practice and know what they can do with what we have.

I DO NOT want to be an Oregon and allow teams to put up 50+ in a game. That won't work against us or Bama style teams.

That being said, hopefully we will hire a true OC before 2013.

Exactly my point. It was a "play to not lose" strategy that flew in the face of what LSU had been doing all half to keep Bama stifled (and blew up in the face of Chief when they marched down the field and scored anyway).

I'm glad you're "hoping" because I'm sure that if he doesn't remedy this one situation and hire a legitimate OC - and give him the keys to the LSU offense-mobile, LSU's string of greatness is going to rapidly go downhill. And I'm going to venture a guess that you'll be among those jumping off the sunshine-pumping bandwagon first if that trend becomes more evident.

No, I think it's the type that live in denial of what they can plainly see in real gametime, like you. Personally, I couldn't care less what Bama fans have to say about LSU fans. I want them to hate us because we beat them regularly, and not accidentally.
