I thought it odd that Lori expired literally 3 seconds after being cut open, it's not like they hit some major artery (that I know of) and we never see Carl shoot her. Maybe Carol finds her and sews her up, or keeps her alive in time for the Doc to do it.
Ridiculous, I know, but we don't see her get shot.

Kirkman has already come out and said that she is in fact dead. It's got to be flashbacks. if Rick is gonna go crazy on us, then he'll have to be thinking/dreaming about something.

I just assumed she passed out from shock, as that is what usually happens when your nervous system is overloaded with pain. Same thing happen to Hershel when he got his leg hacked off. By the way, that has to be the sickest sound i've heard.

I can't remember if they showed her getting shot specifically in the head or just the perspective from the barrel, then her going down.

No, probably passed out from the pain. She might not have been completely dead yet. doesnt really matter, the loss of blood would have killed her anyway and she would have turned.
