Recently saw an advertisement for Saigon Pho on Johnston St in Lafayette, went with the SO Friday night and have to give it Kudos to being VERY close to the best pho I ever ate. Opened in July off Ambassador. Haven't had pho this great since in the DC area!

I know, csb... But I highly recommend it!

My husband's Vietnamese co-worker has also given it a great rec (and I've had her mother's awesome Pho, so it must be good).

Have you had it from Driftwood Diner?

It is totally not a place you'd expect to get Pho, and I am no expert, but I love it. Google Driftwood Diner pho and you'll see some good reviews.

What is csb?

Driftwood diner is by my old house. Even when I was living on that side of town, I didn't try it out, but always wanted to.

I've never been to Saigon Pho, but will definitely try one day. The best Pho restaurant I've been out to out here is Saigon Noodle on Ambassador.

I've never eaten pho but would like to try this place out. What are some must haves for a first timer?

I think for a first timer, stick with cooked beef pho. I think at saigon pho, it's number 19 or 20 on the menu. I'd stay away from the tripe until you are ready to venture out, but get the general idea of pho with the beef first. The brisket and beef is good, also, for a first timer. Also, make sure you doctor it up with the plate of lime, jalapeños, bean sprouts that they give you. It will transform your experience.

Pho Saigon is one of the best in Laffy. If you don't want Pho, try #39. It's amazing.
