Other teams and markets have to deal with football season as well so please don't say it's because of the Saints or LSU games this weekend. Here are some hard facts with the attendance of other teams so far this year:

TONIGHT
Cleveland - 20,562
Golden State - 19,596
Minnesota (w/ Sacramento in town LOL) - 19,356
Charlotte (w/Indiana in town LOL) - 19,124
New York - 19,033
Los Angeles - 18,997
Orlando - 18,846
Boston - 18,624
Atlanta (LOL) - 18,238
Oklahoma City - 18,203
Phoenix - 15,107
NEW ORLEANS - 14,147

OPENING NIGHT

Chicago - 21,313
Cleveland - 20,562
Portland - 20,401
Miami - 20,296
Toronto - 19,800
Philadelphia - 19,101
Los Angeles (Clippers) - 19,060
Los Angeles (Lakers) - 18,997
Utah - 17,634
Detroit - 16,646
Phoenix - 15,678
NEW ORLEANS - 15,358

The Hornets just drafted a once in an exciting once in a lifetime player #1 with Davis, have a new LEGIT owner that has extreme ties with the city and community, have on average the lowest ticket prices in the league, lowered concession prices, etc etc yet they can't even get close to a sellout on the first week of playing. It's going to be funny when the only games that sellout are when Miami, New York, LA, etc or if the team overachieves and the bandwagon fans jump aboard. This has been an ongoing problem with the team for years yet people still blame it on the same excuses.... why not accept the fact that maybe it's the fans and not the product being put on the court? Still love my Hornets and wish them the best, but it's got to be hard for the players to see half empty arenas ALL the time except when big market teams come to town. It's a disgrace when teams like Toronto and Charlotte can sell out, but the Hornets can't even get to 17,000.

Why are you attacking me and not the facts I just put up? I am looking for a RESPECTFUL discussion about the attendance, not your typical "who cares etc" response.

do you think any games in the country this weekend compare to LSU-Alabama?

we're also probably one of the smaller markets

He's attacking you because this shite is posted after every damn game

seems like an improvement to me.

We're obviously going to average 14,000 fans because we did in the 1st 2 games

Oh you mean the same year where New Orleans' population and economy was still crippled by the aftermath of the hurricane?

I agree that the attendance is an issue. Opening night was pretty pathetic, especially in the lower bowl.

I'll wait till later in the season to really see how poor it is, but I don't accept the excuses others do.

You obsessed with this shite and it's pissing everyone else off. There's nothing us on this message board can do about it other than going to the games ourselves and its only just close to 40 of us on here. You need to give this a rest, oh and its only been 2 games, and it'll only be so many games the next time you bring this horseshite up. As long as its not lower than 12k I'm completely fine with the attendance. I'm tired of you with this attendance crap, and ya bitch arse should just give it up while you're behind, it'll only piss us off in the end.

Sincerely,

Stop that shite

That's a retarded way to compare teams. How about percentage of capacity?

Basketball: 18,500

17,188 is just a technical sellout.

I'd like to know why people are following atrendance. I follow it, but I know why I do.

I'm pleased with it so far, but think it will drop to meet expectations.

Here: LINK /

Some points as to why these low numbers are in no way surprising to anyone paying real attention witg a link to arguments for it being high. Consider which set real life is supporting.
