ESPN

cfbstats,com

LSU

2011 44.4 yds/punt
2012 44.1 yds/punt

2011 11th in the nation
2012 15th in the nation

2011 Punts 59, Long 73, Touchback 5, Fair catch 15, Inside 20 27, 50+ 20
2012 Punts 41, Long 65, Touchback 7, Fair catch 11, Inside 20 13, 50+ 14

If you average out to 59 punts for this year:
2012 Punts 59, Long 65, Touchback 10, Fair catch 16, Inside 20 19, 50+ 20

You could say he's a notch off of an All-American year, but he is definitely not having a bad year.

The inside the 20 is where people are saying he's having a worse year, and it looks to still be true. They don't have a stat for Inside The 5, do they?

He has had some bad punts at inopportune times.

Which did not happen a lot last year.

I'm sure he'll be fine this game.

You've got to compare apples to apples (take his 41 current punts to 59).

2011 Punts 59, Long 73, Touchback 5, Fair catch 15, Inside 20 27, 50+ 20
2012 Punts 59, Long 65, Touchback 10, Fair catch 16, Inside 20 19, 50+ 20

That's because he's punting from our own 20 not our own 40

Right... certainly not a BAD year, just not quite LAST year.

The inside the 20 stat is more a reflection of the offense having a worse year than it is Wing have a worse year.

and not having the speed of Mathieu and Brooks

The only problem Brad has is that he was so damn great last year that now being good looks bad.

It's a team average, but BWing has almost all of the punts:

2011 36.1 (7 punts by DJ Howard)
2012 39.8 (3 punts by Jamie Keehn)

I calculated this, so I may be doing it wrong:

((Punts * Avg) - Return Yards) / Punts
