I have been to several other SEC stadiums and they tend to use a divide and conquer strategy with visiting fans, with much of the seating residing in the upper decks.

Why do we provide concentrated seating in the lower bowl to the enemy? There is nothing worse to me than losing in TS, then opponent's coach/players playing to the crowd in the SE corner (a la Saban 2008).

Strength of numbers doesn't protect you in TS.

OP, you are an idiot, where and how many is very much dictated by the SEC office, LSU has little to no control about where or how many, they can move opp seats in stages, but only with approval and not all at once...you really think ours are much different thatn other stadiums? you are just plain wrong

I agree as well. Just look how aTm did it. I had friends that were sitting in the aTm student section who had no idea the band even made the trip. They put the band and some students in the last section of one endzone, fans in the last section of another endzone across the field, then had two separated sections in the upper deck of the other endzone. It was practically impossible to get any sort of cheer or chant going. Bama does something similar.

Not only do we give opposing fans a large section in the bottom, but we also keep their upper deck fans together. All in all, it doesn't really matter. It is 7k fans against 86k, but it would still be nice to return the favor to other teams.

Went to Sandford Stadium in Athens a few years ago and Nose Bleeds were pretty much all visiting LSU fans.

It is. I've been to every stadium but Kentucky and Missouri. The only schools that are just as generous with lower bowl seats are the schools with smaller stadiums.

Very, very good question. I've always wondered this for many years. We get put in the sky when we travel, and a-hole visitors come to Tiger Stadium and are put in great seats RIGHT by the field.

Auburn gives a big chunk of one corner end zone lower bowl to the visiting team last time I went there (last year).

You're the idiot. LSU gives visiting fans way more seats in the lower bowl than any other SEC school. That stops in 2014 when 1500 of those lower bowl visiting fans will be moved to the new upper deck south end expansion. Know what you're talkin about before you mouth off...

Yeah, I forgot about Auburn. They give about 5 rows in 2 sections at the bottom then they have a corner for the band and a few fans.

Moving opposing fan bases to the upper deck kills the college experience. I can't stand it. I first noticed this 3 years ago at Bama. Why is Alabama so afraid to let all of opposing fans sit together? they now put us in every corner of the upper deck. Its a puss move.

IMO, LSU needs to have the "chest" to repel the urge to ruin what makes college football so unique.

I went to the UGA game in '09. I had player guest tickets and sat in the lower bowl in the corner of the endzone. The visitor section in the lower bowl wasn't huge but there were at least some LSU seating in the lower bowl.

Well, every school provides some lower bowl seating, but most aren't as generous as LSU. I remember a few years back, the only students that got to sit in the lower bowl at Alabama were those that took the bus trip. My group of friends had maximum priority points and still sat in the upper deck of the endzone.
