Running out of 3 WR set

When we made the switch in the ATM game, running game really took off. I think this formation will be a key against Bama. Hill looked great running out of this set. It certainly enhances the passing game with 3 wides. Plus our wides can block with the best of them in the running game. You can also run jet sweeps from the set, pass to the RBs, and even get a screen game going and draws. A real nice variety. We'll see.

Bama does it all the time. But they have to believe we have the ability to throw it from that formation. That is why theirs works so well.

agreed, we need to spread bama's defense out, but miles is too damn hard headed.

It makes Bama swap a LB out for a nickel back. If I'm the OC, I want their nickel back on the field.

Keep in mind that, if we do this, Saban is going to bring the house on Mett with man press coverage on the outside. So, when we DO throw the ball (because this is the ONLY way this play will work if you want to run out of it), either Mett is going to have to place that ball quickly and perfectly or our WR's are going to have to win their space. That said, I know we can do it.

This is the key, our receivers haven't shown the ability to beat man coverage. We're going to have to use motion, sluggo's, draws, etc. three guys running curls isn't going to cut it

This is what I think this game will come down to. Can our recievers win the one on one battles and get open. This has to happen or we will have a repeat of UF game.

Very good stuff in this thread actually.
I love the 3 wide as well.
We make it easy on a defense when we go jumbo 2TE I formation.
Split the wides out and dictate the defensive personnel.
As someone else said at least our WRs can block. It may actually be what they do best, unfortunately.
I also love all of the shotgun looks in the second half of A&M.
Take away the dropback as Mett is slow backing up and needs all the time he can get to scan the field.
We can make a lot of little adjustments to give our O some energy.
