I don't. I just think the Pixar folks have a better track record.

True...but here is the important thing: Lucas will no longer have final say on EVERYTHING. That's why the prequels were so bad. He had total control over the whole creative process. There will actually be people on this next trilogy of films who will not be handicapped by Lucas's dictatorial style of filmmaking.

Yeah I doubt we'll see any of the characters we know from before - except 3pio and R2D2. They almost have to bring at least one or both of them back even as just a small connection to the previous films.

I'd love for them to do it in the future of that galaxy maybe just as the Republic is starting to be rebuilt and some big new threat is emerging.

I expect them to just "fast forward" into the future, instead of doing a reboot.

If they reboot Star Wars I will not go see it and I may riot.

The post Jedi books are supposed to be canon, right?

So unless you jump those books, you have to recast HS, LS, LO, etc, which would not be cool.

this won't be "rushed" it will be produced in the normal amount of time a movie should take with the right people running it. Lucas spent far too much time on CGI stuff that didn't add to the film, totally CGI characters, etc... which take a long time to produce...

Three years is a pretty long time to make a film. It'll probably take a year or so to write the script, several months of pre-production, 6-8 months of actual production, and then however many months left for post-production and marketing.

my point is time doesn't mean anything. If you have a solid story and script then you get a great movie. 2, 5, 10 years doesn't help if you don't have that.

I'd think that Han, Luke, Leia would be cameos at best and this would be set a good distance into the future.

Damn. I don't know how to feel about this. I'm glad Lucas is moving to the side, but I honestly don't want any more live action.

And Joss Whedon can't do it because of Avengers.

the plot of hte video game Knights of hte old republic would be bad asss! whatever they do it is going to rock so much harder than the prequels. starting fresh removes the contrtraints the prequels had

Disney's marketing machine is the best in the world. Have the parks, have the television networks, but let's be honest, do you necessarily do you really need a big marketing campaign for this movie? As long as they do it right, it will make bank.

There are times when I just want to leave it alone. That its done. That I'm sick of them taking a dump on 4, 5, 6.

But now the reality is starting to set in and I can't be anything but excited.

You think so? I'm pretty sure nothing that hasn't been on film to this point is canon to the general public.
