Katrina vs. Sandy

Serious question.

Could the price tag of this eclipse that of Katrina? It is hitting the largest city in the country and a few other very large ones. The cost of damage and restoring is going to be very large.

Thoughts.

Damage is going to be to the infrastructure. Electrical gird costs are going to be unreal. Everything underground will be saturated with salt water which will yield all new conductors in all effected areas.

Sandy will be far more devestating than Katrina. I just hope that there is not the extent of loss of life that was suffered in Katrina.

The price of this one will probably at least double Katrina's costs. The loss of life won't even be close to Katrina's.

It is a serious question. Reporting 3 feet of water on the floor of the stock exchange is pretty eye opening. (don't know if accurate)

It could be one hell of a bill.
