Liberation quests.

I do think it's bullshite that even the patriots, when you liberate a zone, are enemies. What the frick, patriots.

I've done about five liberation missions in new York and still have no luck . Do I have to liberate the zone entirely?

Even patriots are Templars.

I cleared an area and got one, so I thought that tied in. But I've since cleared more and haven't gotten one... I could be wrong.

ETA: I was wrong. As soon as you entirely liberate an area you gain a new assassin.

Unlike other gameplay features that were added in Revelations, the naval missions are great. The only issues are the cost of ship upgrades and the camera angle. It would be nice to have a separate camera slightly more overhead for navigating between obstacles without needing to stare at the minimap.

I got to a point where certain Naval missions are nigh impossible without upgrades, so I've got to cool off on that until I collect some money. That being said broadsiding a Man'o'War IS SO frickING AWESOME

Once I figured out trade convoys and made myself collect the pegleg trinkets for William Kidd treasure missions, I started bringing in a lot of money. I also have not bought a single weapon in the game because I have never experienced a problem in combat with the defaults.

I had my one artisan manufacture the maximum amount of trade cargo upgrades so I've been making 3000 a convoy, but I'm sure I could do more. Some of the sea missions have you clearing trade routes, is there a way to trade via sea as well?

I think you can, but I haven't tried it yet. Plan to when I get home this afternoon.

As an aside, I have heard that this game is too Anti-American and that it is too Anti-English. I think it is both... the writers seem to be bitterly cynical about all involved parties other than the Iroquois. : lol:

Honestly, I think the story is bad so far. Too many cliched elements, hollow characters, and rushed writing. In terms of gameplay it is certainly spectacular, but what should be a glorious plot just leaves me wanting to go back and play II and Brotherhood.

Yeah, the story is lacking a bit. I guess that's why I've found myself just liberating zones, doing homestead missions, etc.

I haven't done many naval missions... Probably for the reasons you stated. Camera angles are an issue. Probably start work on that today, along with the frontiersman missions.

Only weapons upgrade I've bought is the double barreled pistol. I think I crafted the dual holster last night, but it was late and I can't really remember.

I got Captain Kidds sword and I've yet to find anything as well rounded that thing is a combo slashing machine.

I am loving the naval battles in this game.

Reminds me a lot of Sid Meier's pirates.

yeah. With the first fort I liberated, the second after the British surrender cutscene ends a Patriot pushes me off a ledge. I guess he spawned right near where I was when I switched the flags and the game placed me on a ledge.

Needless to say...he disappeared in some nearby tall grass

I think it's an annoying gameplay mechanic but the Assassins not being tolerated is pretty standard for the series. Even when Ezio had the Sultan connection in Revelations he still had to deal with guards.

I just beat the game. Great ending but it wasn't challenging at all. I didn't buy any knew equipment or upgrade anything. I wish you would have to get a better sword or axe to kill the tougher opponents. Oh well. Time to go and kill random people. Also, I would have liked different colored robes.
