Is it a Louisiana thing to say dressing? I said it today and a friend from NC asked me what I was talking about.

There's a difference.

Dressing is the stuffing that's not inside the bird.

When it's served in the bird, it's stuffing. When it's served by itself, it's dressing.

dressing is prepared outside the bird, stuffing inside. simple as that, case closed.

I am in FL and I use both. Dressing with Turkey and stuffing when used as a side dish. Move this stuffing over to the f&d.

05 you still in the middle east?

Born and raised in Alabama. Called it dressing all my life as everyone I know likewise calls it dressing. So no, it's not a "LA thing". Perhaps it's better described as a "Southern thing"?

The only people who say dressing are my parents, and it's really annoying.
