I imagine they have to really concentrate, otherwise, it's like when you do something really routine for a long time, get in a zone, then something snaps and you're back in the moment, wondering WTF you're doing.

that's kind of the point of military training, no concentration, they don't even think about it, it just comes automatic. When i got out of basic i caught myself counting footsteps everywhere i walked/ran for quite awhile.

But I would say it's a waste of resources and a silly gesture

A growing number of the US electorate agrees with you. If current trends in the public education of our young people continue, this Ceremony will one day become a part of the past.

pretty damn sure those soldiers, when alive at the time,if asked the question "Would you want another soldier to have to stand in a fricking cat 5 blizzacane to watch over the tomb of the unknown soldier", they would answer "No".

An increasing number of the US electorate agrees with your perspective. Our kids learn all about this Progressive agenda in schools as they grow up.

Grade school. Junior High. High School. College. The indoctrination of our young into the Progressive belief system continues unabated and unchallenged. No wonder why so many agree with your view on this issue.

chill the frick out. And address my entire posts followed by response posts regarding them subsequently.

I was told they wouldn't have to do this if it puts them in harms way and I agree with that.
