Bama's is not good enough to beat us with less than 8 in the box, so that means we should be able to get our WRs in 1/1 coverage with little to no S help.

Mett has to give our WRs a chance to make plays. Overthrowing open Wrs by 5 yds will doom us again. The WRs will be open. LSU just has to make the plays.

The talent level on both sides of the ball. You honestly think Bama could stop our running game with 2 deep safeties?

No. After scoring more points, turnovers will be the number one key to the game. That is, the D will have to force more turnovers than bama. Number 2 is converting key third downs. Number 3 is controlling the clock by effectively running the football.

It's the tried and true formula to success.

Our game plan and Bama's will be exactly the same. Bama's QB has proven the ability to make the throws we needed.

it would help Mett a bit if the WRs could get some type of separation as well

those overthrows are not all on Mett

Against A&M there were at least 5 times Mett over threw very open WRs. That can't happen against Bama. Mett needs to give his WRs a chance to make a play or get interferred with bc the DB is playing catchup.

So you recognize that bama will load the box in this thread but then make another thread about how we need to keep Copeland off the field...How exactly to you expect us to run the ball? This game will not be won with our passing game, we should all be willing to acknowledge that by know. We will have to overcome the seemingly impossible task of running against the best run D in the country, and we won't do that without the best FB on our team.

They are better than you think in the secondary however to make your thread creditable, we do have a better chance of throwing for 200yds IF Mett is on key than we do of running for 150 yds..

Read the thread. Multiple TEs > JC

I dont mind overthrows at all.. The reciever or nobody mentality works for me. Big play or nothing. Either way throwing down field gets safetys and lb's on their heels and off their toes. Which benefits our run game

If running to the outside, I can buy that. But how does an extra TE help us running up the middle, which is the base scheme of this offense? Our passing threat is nonexistent so the extra TE will do little to draw the attention of the LBs.

For one, the extra man on the line makes it easier for a pulling OL to engage a LB. Since we have athletic OL this could be as effective as a FB.

I understand that making the throws keep the defense honest but against a team like Bama you NEED to connect on at least half of your chances if you plan on winning. We can beat A&M missing on ALL of our deep routes not Bama.

saban's defense is always weak against the fade pass. Too bad our WRs can't get seperation or catch and when they do, Mett overthrows them or they fumble it after the catch.

There won't be wide open receivers running up and down the field all day like there was against A&M. Just go ahead and accept that then re-assess your key to the game.

I didn't say wide open but there will be open WRs bc of Bama crowding the box (no safety help over the top). Mett needs to be a lot more accurate on deep throws.
