This early in the season, yes. A month later, I shoot the small one for instant camp grill delicacies.

I might not wait the month

I've let some walk and some not.
I think the fawn would be ok. It's just a personal preference I guess.
I saw a doe fawn this morning with no mother around, it was just too small

I try to shoot a doe a year, fawn or no fawn.
I won't kill them if they have a spotted fawn with em though.
Eta: supposedly does run off their buck babies. Not sure if its true or not and I don't take it into account, but it's an excuse to wax a doe

I let a doe with a yearling walk two weeks ago.

Once the fawn loses its spots, it can survive without mama.
I still try not to shot a doe with an obvious fawn (spots or no spots). In the places I hunt, a doe without a baby will walk out five minutes later if I wait

I did Saturday evening
I was watching 3 does and 2 fawns play in a field about 700 yards out when a big doe walked out into the same field about 150 yards from me with a little one tagging along
I lined up the scope but just watched for about a minute before they wandered back into the woods
Watched that first group of 5 for about 30 minutes total though

Not much fun to shoot a nanny, then get off your stand and have to shoo off the little ones
You shoot a little one and take the chance of it being a small buck
In the grand scheme of things neither will matter much

Yes. I've let them walk quite a few times.

I will shoot the fawn first if I were to take one of them. Why kill off your breading stock? It is like rasing cows. You keep the best breaders and sell/kill the calf.

I let them walk every time.

I let them walk just about everytime I hunt. I have never shot a yearling even hunting on public property when there isn't many options. Let the babies live.

Never. I have only killed 3 does in 39 years of hunting though(all with bow). Always let a kid use my doe tags.

At our club, you have to kill two does before you can kill a buck. Overpopulation is our biggest problem.

nope, i'm out of deer meat, so i was ready to put something down, just wondered if the OB felt the same way. i know it would have been fine for the fawn if i had shot the doe, just couldn't do it.
