Does anyone think that Strief and Bushrod can slow down these 2 dominate pass rushers? We have given up 12 sacks so far this year. Bushrod is an above average tackle to me and strief has been getting beat a lot.

Average is 32, so above average would be 25-20 kinda range.

He's not there.

As for slowing down Miller, there is no chance in hell. The guy is an elite pass rusher, and can easily take over games. Vollmer >>> Bushrod and Miller destroyed him all game.

Saints did well against Matthews. They have improved the past 3 games. I don't know what they are doing differently but it's working.

Sure did and thats what gives me hope, but drews ability to step up in the pocket helps out a shyte load, I think we do ok in this game on defending this pass rush.

If the gameplan of the coaches is to depend on this oline to be responsible blocking those 2 one on one then Payton needs to get a burner quick.

I'm sure the plan is more to take advantage of those guys aggressive natures with screens and such. Plus, a lot will depend on Drew and his internal clock.

Also as good as though 2 are at pass rushing, they do have weaknesses to exploit. Dumervil to small to stop the run consistently and Von Miller still young and struggling with making the right decisions when he drops back in coverage.

The Broncos lost Broderick Bunkley so that's once piece of fear we don't need to worry about.

Pass protection has been pretty spot on right now. IIRC Matthews only had one sack in the GB game.

Also, this is the perfect game to bust out a few more screens. That'll slow down any pass rush

Agreed, and bushrod is a former pro bowler...he has blocked some serious pass rushers in his time at tackle....

That's all you need is to slow them down, guys that good won't just be "stopped". The Saints have a great offense and can score despite things like this because Drew has a very quick release. I'd imagine that if Denver is getting serious pressure they'll combat it with screens and swing passes. Could be a really big game for Sproles and Thomas.

Houston attacked them with balance, and destroyed Denver's base defense. NE gashed them running, and I hope that with Kromer finally being able to coach the line that we'll see more production. But, they also worked down the field slow in a similar style to the Saints. Brady used a lot of Welker (Lance Moore) for these short/intermediate routes and that was probably to throw off the rush you're referring to. I think the Saints can match up really well against this defense. It'll come down to the defense making some stops.

Chips, screens, swings, and short passes will slow them down. Drew has the quickest release and the most accurate arm. We'll be just fine.

Also, not to be an arse, but has anyone gone on record to say they hate your name yet? If not, put me down.

Bushrod isn't all world by any means, but he usually gets the job done. In the past few years, the only player I can remember absolutely destroying the Saints offense is Demarcus Ware. Well, that Rams game last year was pretty bad too, but that was more of a collection of players than just one. Anyway, they usually find a way to deal with these type of guys, whether it's by chipping, screens, or whatever else.

We can only hope the return of Vitt allows Kromer to focus solely on the Oline and we see some improvement across the board. Enough to stop Miller? IDK about all that. Our tackles just aren't very good
