Do you think Gerry Dinardo will ever be recognized by LSU?

How would he be receivedby the fans? Would he even accept to come back?

I saw him on the B1G network just now and started thinking about him. I read a few comments years back and he seemed pretty bitter.

I'm not saying he should be in the Hall Of Fame by any means, but guest captan or something. He did at least put us on semi firm footing and break our streak of losing seasons. Also I'm a little biased as 95 Auburn and UF 97 are two of my favorite childhood memories.

depending upon who is currently on the board, grab your ankles.

I believe his contributions are very underrated.

I agree that he deserves more credit. The "Bring Back the Magic Tour" was a pretty savvy move at the time.

Don't expect him to ever be embraced by the LSU faithful.

'98 & '99 marred the success he had in '95 - '97.

true...I vote for LSU recognizing him by placing his name on the bottom of the trash cans outside of Mike's cage!!!

He would probably be fine with LSU. Bill King mentioned on his show last year running into Gerry on the beach in Pensacola. Gerry was wearing an LSU warm up.

I have no dislike for Gerry. I think he did a good job of turning around our recruiting program if nothing else. He was not a very good coach but why did anyone have any expectations of him ? Remember, we got him after Pat Sullivan turned us down.

Gerry Dinardo's time was right in my wheelhouse. I went to two Independence Bowls wins and one Peach Bowl win following Dinardo's teams. Not all bad considering the 6 straight bowl less years, and the awful recruiting by Curley. Dinardo did good job of getting LSU back on track. He left Saban a ton of NFL talent.

He would have been at LSU for a long time had he not been so hellbent on not replacing Lou Tepper.

DiNardo's failure at LSU was nobody's fault but his.

Dinardo deserves a ton of credit for bringing us back to the cusp of relevance on the national level, which Saban built on. If you don't think so, "You Don't Know Buick."

From an LSU football perspective they indeed were painful.
