Gordon may start contact work at the end of the week; Will return at 100 percent

New Orleans Hornets shooting guard Eric Gordon said Monday night he has been running at full speed for the last week and suffered no setbacks with the sore right knee that has kept him out of action the entire preseason.
Gordon is eyeing contact work for the first time, perhaps as early as the end of this week
"At this point, it's about me trying to get ready as fast as I can, but not rush into a game where I might get hurt. I haven't done any contact stuff with the team yet," Gordon said. "I really don't want to rush it. There's a good chance toward the end of the week, maybe I'll start doing some contact stuff. But it's all about what's comfortable between me and the organization. But I think there's a really good chance I will."
Williams said he envisions limiting Gordon's minutes once Gordon does return to the floor.
"Every day we're getting closer," Williams said. "How close, I'm not quite sure yet. He's doing more in practices. If I had to guess, we'd probably wait until next week to give him a good three practices in a row. And I'm sure we'll have a minute restriction on him just to make sure he's ready."
Gordon, on the other hand, said when he returns he'll be full go.
"I don't know, I would say by the next time I play, I'll be 100 percent; I'll be ready to go. There won't be too many limitations. I don't want to put that on coach. We've been going through tough stretches all preseason. As long as I get to rehab and progress, by the time I get back playing, I won't have to worry about that."

well. I guess that means hes playing 82 games this year.

Eric Gordon couldn't play 82 games if they spotted him 81

So, he only needs 3 full contact practices to be 100% ready? I'm just not buying that. I know I give the guy alot of grief, but if he's hurt, he's hurt. Let him keep resting and put out realistic projections. That was the stuff that pissed me off so much last year, they either just didn't know or kept stringing everybody along. I'd rather them just be honest, starting with what the injury really is..

They couldn't tell you they were tanking. Dirk sounds like he's got a similar injury where his knee was sore and swelling and it was scoped pretty soon after the injury was bad enough to sideline him. He'll be out 3-6 weeks, they didn't try 6 weeks of rest as the first treatment.

Find a place where I have said that. Anywhere. Find a place where I said we would make the playoffs. You, on the other hand, ride Gordon's junk ad nauseum.
ETA - Who are "we"? Even brmark has toned down the anti-Gordon rhetoric.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: it is very hard for me to give a single frick about EG.

I have taken the stance that we need Gordon to come back and have a great season. If he is unhappy or wants a trade, they will have plenty of suitors and the team will be sitting pretty. If he struggles or has lost some explosion (ala Baron Davis and his multiple knee injuries), then we are screwed and that contract becomes unmovable.
My hope for the end of the season is 3 solid starters (Davis at Center, Anderson and Rivers), a late lottery pick, Gordon as trade bait to snatch a good/decent PG or SF and a ton of cap room to chase whatever other needs we are left with (C. Paul?). If someone else bust out (Vasquez, Aminu or a sold his soul to the devil Lopez), then that is gravy. That's my hopes for the team.. that and to beat the Lakers, Heat and Thunder whenver we play them..
