That's what the paper in San Antonio had to say about it.

Ya think that defense had anything to do with that?

semantics.

24-19 and 7-1 are all I care about.

When LSU went up at halftime that took some of the life out of the crowd and TAMU. Pound the ball and sooner or later a big run ends the game. It is sometimes not pretty but LM trusts his defense and that is what wins games.

Once LSU went to the three man front and sent the Dog from either side or up the middle, Johnny Football was befuddled. Kingsbury can't do anything about his natural tendency to break contain and make a play with his feet.

Chavis devised brilliant strategy by sending the DB's or LB's constantly while playing discipline/contain on the edges opposite of the blitz. When he flushed, the discipline side then pressured him.

I was strangely calm at 9-0 and sort've ambivalent early because I knew Chavis would make the adjustment. That three man front kept the Lineman fresh, didn't cost us in run support, and put much more speed on the field in the Secondary.

Also kudos to Tharold Simon, who showed a short memory after a forgettable 1st half. He put in some great work in the last 30 minutes.

Especially the last play.

same.

I think this team handles adversity fairly well. It's good to know going into your toughest game of the season that if the breaks don't go our way, this team doesn't panic.

He did play well in the second half. I was telling my buddy at halftime that for someone who was supposed to be next in line of great LSU DBs, it seemed like literally every single pass that was throw his way resulted in a first down.

I felt this way as well. Knew Chief would make the proper adjustments. It was obvious to me that LSU's defense got stronger as the game progressed. Championship defense no doubt about it.

Should we have used that scheme against florida?

Against UF we were more than solid the first half... Had our offense been halfway decent at 3rd down conversion that day we would have been better at stopping Gillislee later.

But the D was absolutely gassed and scheme didn't matter at that point UF had our number that day.

There was only one turnover that wasn't forced by the defense and that was the receiver for A&M had the ball bounce off his should pads other than that LSU caused the other turnovers.

Also, the last turnover was on the kickoff return to end the game.

I believe that the OP is pointing out that the paper said
give-a-ways and not take-a-ways

People easily forget that Minter and Alexander were both out during the two scoring drives that Florida had. I know it is a bunch of ifs but if Minter doesn't cramp and Alexander breaks and ankle, LSU maybe doesn't allow Flordia to score for a gutsy win. Once Minter and Alexander went out, Florida kept running to that side of the field.

Our LBs have been huge this year.

I'd hardly consider the last one relevant since the clock was at 0:00 for about 15-20 seconds.
