If Tags significantly reduces the player suspensions.

quote:

Meanwhile, if former NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue delivers a ruling significantly different from commissioner Roger Goodell's when he hears the appeals of players suspended as a result of the NFL's bounty investigation, many league sources told ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen that they believe Saints owner Tom Benson will petition Goodell to reconsider Payton's one-year suspension.

I thought from the beginning that the NFL would revisit Payton's suspension if the Saints were eliminated from playoff contention.

Would he be remotely prepared for that - would the team be?

No way that Benson asks for a reduction or no way Goodell grants it?

The former is likely IMO, the latter is not.

This. We also want an apology for the Saints organization, city, and fans. One more thing Roger boy, we want an extra 1st round pick for sabotaging our team.

Vilma will object to Tagliabue as the appointed reviewer.

I tend to think that this may be a bad idea. As of the end of yesterdays game, the Saints are already seeing their second head coach of the year. Coaching turnovers are a difficult adjustment for the players. A 3rd may not go well.

Hardly obscure there, Pedro.
