Could he possibly step in and give us a spark?

Nah, I don't see him being anymore mobile and he probably is not as far along as mett and would wilt under the competition from SEC defenses.

The backup is always the best QB on the team?

The Rant has already nominated him to serve as a d-lineman, tight end, and tetherball pole. Take a number.

No one can give an accurate answer...it's all only opinions. Mine is, what will it hurt? Last two seasons all that was heard was the crowd yelling for Lee. Why isn't the crowd as adamant for a change of qb this year.

just something to think about. No one truly knows what would happen.

+ He's 6'8, maybe he can throw it over the line with out getting it batted down.

- He's a pole prolly not very mobile.

He looks like he has quicker feet than Mett in this high school video.

Throws it almost just like brother Philip.

I just wonder how confident and mentally strong he is?

Is he itching to get on the field, or is he content waiting his turn?

Does he think he can help his team now?

Anybody?

Could this be a Miles' wild card play for Bama?

This right here is the only reason people want to give him the time of day. He's got a famous brother.

The reason people were always calling for Lee over Jefferson, or Jefferson over Lee, is that they were different types of players. Each seemingly provided an element that the other couldn't.

There isn't that difference between Mett and Rivers.

from that video, he has quick feet and a great release. Good throwing motion, for a High schooler. he will get curb stomped in the SEC. I wish he had some PT during the OOC this year.

Nice, constructive post, poncho.

I guess you don't like to even consider the idea of playing a backup QB, even if it might spark your team.

I'm not suggesting we play him, I'm just throwing it out there and asking if anybody has inside info on Rivers' progress and an opinion to share.

I don't think you qualify in either category.

BTW, don't worry, I won't tell your mommy you used a bad word on the internet.

He's probably just like Mett, with a weaker arm and slower release. Sounds like a recipe for a spark alright!

If your O-Line ain't clicking, I really don't give a shite who is QBing. They are going to have trouble executing if the defense is in the backfield with them right after the ball is snapped. Poor bastards probably see their life flashing before their eyes most times the ball is snapped.

The good news is that we seem to be getting a line. Now we have to teach the WRs to catch the ball. QB needs some work too, but perhaps we were expecting too much of him after four years of "jj".

Ha...considering we're 112th in the nation right now in passing offense (Florida is actually a few spots behind us as well as Auburn), it probably wouldn't hurt.

Actually, I'd put him in for a couple of plays just to run the ball. I could see Saban being like, "What is this $hit?" Anything to make them think about what we're doing... That I could a approve of...I don't know about passing.

We're 7-1 with all of our goals sitting in front of us. It could hurt a lot. Are the 2 receiver patterns all of a sudden going to be wide open when Rivers comes in?

Mett has been below average thus far, but I'd swear some o you make threads based on the box score instead of actually watching games.
