And Tin Roof is what, a quarter mile from this place? Would be stupid business not to have them on at least one tap.

Yes. Same reason Pastime has one Tin Roof tap.

Made funny by the fact that the beer has to travel across town and back before it reaches Mud and Water and Pastime.

They opened the bar to make money.

The only people they don't want in their bar are people that don't spend money.

Back on track, why not just get another freakin' tap.

If the plan is to attract the craft beer crowd, and to keep attracting them, you do that with the best product available. End of story.

Do you think I would drink Dixie beer at the Avenue Pub? No f'ing chance.

But hey, it's not my bar, so it makes no differnce to me.

If that is their plan, they are going to fail with Canebrake, LA 31, rotating Abita, Guiness and Tin Roof as their only offerings.

It's pretty obvious by the fact that they only have 6 taps that they aren't trying to be a craft beer bar, but just want to have some good draft offerings to satisfy people.

I'm sure they will have the BMC products in bottles as well to cater to the BMC drinkers.

They arent trying to be a craft beer bar, just happen to be supporting local beers... The reason they arent carrying NOLA (which they wanted to) is because it only comes in full kegs... for their setup, they need 1/2 kegs... maybe that'll change somewhere down the line...

Went to Mud and Water last night. The patio really turned out nicely and the place itself is really nice.

But, it was pretty dead. I hope they make it. Apparently they don't get ANY business from the 13th Gate being right across the street. That can't be good, since they are taking up all of the parking in the meantime.

Waiting until the 13th Gate wraps, but I'll definitely check it out then. I went there several times when it was the L Bar-it could be a nice venue. Thanks for the pics.

Yeah, but how much business will a bar get from the 13th Gate? Probably 80% to 90% of the people at the 13th Gate are under 21. You might get one or two groups of adults, but not enough to fill up a bar. The Pastime can get the families and high school kids who go to the 13th Gate, Mud & Water can't.

Well put. Yeah, I bet pastime does just fine with 13th game.
