I doubt anyone will, just a question. Davis will probably be the popular pick with his rebounding skills, but I am going to go with Lopez. I think something like 11 and 10 is possible.

If he averages a double double, we will make the playoffs that would be far more than we expected from him.

I think Davis will average a double double and will fill up the stat column with a flurry of stats a few blocks here, steal here, Bunch of rebounds and obviously at least 10 a game. His offense is better than we thought originally, way ahead of schedule. Exciting times.

It'd be especially impressive since Robin Lopez seems to be a glass eater as well.

I have no doubts whatsoever that he'll average close to what he had at Kentucky. Maybe more. Cuz those transition buckets, and the feeds when plays break down and he grabs easy baskets will be there. AND he's shown a nice jumpshot from midrange.

I think we will ask more of him on offense than Kentucky did. They had all kinds of guys who can score. AD and MKG weren't even the top two scorers on the team. We dont have that luxury. As long as EG is healthy, AD wont be the primary offensive guy, but he will still get plenty of looks.

Lopez, Davis, and Vasquez are the only ones with a shot...I'm also gonna go with Vasquez. he averaged 12 and 8 per 36 last season. He has improved, has better players to pass to, and is assisting at a high rate this preseason.

I'm not sure what you mean with this. AD was UK's leading scorer at a lil over 14 ppg (LINK ). If AD doesn't average a double/double I will very let down and it means something bad happened. His primary focus should be rebounding and shot blocking, so 10 rpg should almost be an automatic. IMO any regular starter should get you at least 10 ppg, so I see no reason for AD not to get a solid 15/11 type of line. Anything less is a let down and he isn't getting ROY. To put it in perspective, Okafor averaged 15/11 as a rookie. I have much higher expectations than him.

I thought I heard Calipari say that on that Kentucky basketball segment on ESPN a few days ago. He may have been talking about # of shots.

i don't think that's true at all. I can see him being a 16 or 17 ppg game with 8 or 9 board and 2 blocks. Oak was on a SHITTY arse team, you have to remember that. Davis has Lopez, Smiht, Anderson down low with him to compete for boards with. I don't think Davis will have a double double (though it would be nice)...he will be close, though

Davis

Although I think he averages around:

7-8 ppg
10-11 rpg

I think Vasquez has the potential to do it, but I don't think he will have the minutes. Before the preseason I though he would have about 32 mpg, right now I think he will have more like 25mpg which is not enough time per game to get a double double.

So your thinking double digit assists? I'm not trying to be a naysayer, cause I'm hoping that Vasquez has an awesome year. But only 2 guys, in the whole league, averaged over 10 assists last season. That's even rounding up over 9.5. On the other hand, 15 guys averaged 10 rpg (including rounding up). It's just much more likely for a frountcourt guy to do it, especially a good one.

I agree with you that it would be very unlikely, and as I said I don't think the minutes he will get will be enough, but I do think that looking at the chemistry I sow between him and Davis, and providing Gordon is healthy, he would have a good chance to improve the number of assists he got last year. Do I think is going to happen? of course not, but the potential is there

I like Vasquez as the point but he would be most improved player of the year if he could average 10 assist. Usually only 2. Or 3 players average those assist a year.

Gotta go with Davis as the only option for this feat.
