Played sports all my life and I would rather win as a team any day rather than have personal success.

This. It's not like our offense has set the world on fire. Atleast we are winning though.

frick that, not when it comes to feeding your family.

It's all about making it to the nfl for some guys, they couldn't care less about winning. Selfish, but true

Go look at when SEC WR's like Julio Jones and A.J. Green were drafted compared to Big XII WR's like Crabtree and Dez Bryant. Look at the video game stats for the Big XII guys compared to the SEC guys and tell me what those stats got those guys.

UT's record since Davis has been there: 18-14
LSU's record: 30-4

Did lsu even offer lache? If so, I think we backed off of him. He wouldn't do anything in our offense anyway.

Your intramural flag football and soccer teams truly appreciate that. If only Mike Davis had your clarity!

Craig Davis(1st), Bowe(1st), Doucet(3rd), Lafell(3rd) and Randle(2nd) all played under Miles.

And you are doing what now? Professional athlete? If you had the ability and aspired to become a professional athlete, your priority would have been what is best to improve your chances of becoming a pro athlete and a high draft pick. Winning would be important but secondary to that in choosing a school.

Mike Davis is from Texas and decided to stay home and attend the flagship. He is fighting for the home team. Fans are only interested in winning. Players are interested in more. I am happy that Spears, Clayton, Fault, etc. were not just interested in winning teams. Otherwise, LSU would still be losing.

Today it is in the nature of fandom to be myopic and selfish. Once the same kids whom "fans" lust for commit, "fans" are on to the next recruit (fix) to lust after and could care less about those many recruits who chose their school who aren't immediately superstars. And , if they do not become the superstars the "fans" expect, the "fans" want them disposed of like the garbage they have now become in the eyes of the "fans".

There are many examples of athletes who chose LSU being demonized because they were not the fix the addicted "fan" needed. Even though those athletes gave their hearts and souls toward winning. The "fans" drug is winning. Nothing else will do. Fall short of that and the "fans" will turn on you like the mob chasing Frankenstien.

A true fan would treat the individual athletes as family. A true fan sticks with them through thick and thin. Win or lose. Sure, they will get on them if they f up, do not do their best or do stupid things. But it never becomes personal. There is never vitrolic name calling. The true fan supports the team the same if it was 0 - 10 or 10 - 0 because it is family. Sort of like the Saints fans historically.

LSU has a fan base that include many who are not true fans but seekers of instant gratification. Seekers of the next fix. The next high. Like a drug addicted person whose missed their fix. Temper tantrums. Name calling. Anger. Moaning and groaning. The classic signs.

LSU and the team need more of the true fan and less of the pleasure seeker, addicted "fans".
