As the title says, I'm looking for suggestions for a new action game to get my hands on. I usually prefer FPS and sport games, but I'm looking to expand my game library a little. What are some games that you guys have enjoyed playing?

That ... certainly seems condescending.

Great endorsement

Like AJF said, Borderlands 2 might be a good choice. FPS with RPG elements. The new Assassins Creed is coming out soon, so AC2 might be a good cheap option to get you into the series.

It wasn't not condescending, but it was serious too. Seriously condescending.

Clarification:

I'm a little into the game as far as hours spent playing. The gameplay is pretty interesting. Im not a fan of the viewpoint I perfer being able to actually see the character move around rather than the 1st person POV.

General consensus is to skip the first one. I got bored with it as well. Find a synopsis online to keep up with the story, but the game greatly improves on 2.

10-4.

It was a cool theory. I like the sneaking around and what not but it was VERY repetitive. Same thing over and over, and that was at the beginning. Got old quick.

I also found the first one very boring.

I skipped 2.

Wife got me AC: Brotherhood for my birthday, loved it. It was a great game, I highly recommend it. I'm thinking about maybe picking up 2.

The first one was a labor. You couldn't run fast or ride your horse in a sprint around any guards or you were hunted down.
