Endure any of the restaurants(if that means your hotel or another one nearby) that are near to your hotel if you have a desire to live another day.

Take a cab to Spanish Tavern in old part of Newark.
Or, any place in Hoboken, which is closer than Manhattan.

If you want to live thru your stay, I wouldn't leave your room.

I wouldn't recommend any places in Hoboken, unless you are looking for a bar that serves shitty food.
La Isla is good but since you are in Newark head to the iron bound section for good Spanish food

Pardon me if my geography is off, but this place has been awesome both times I ate there. It's been years. The bar was always been full of wise guys, or guys that looked like wise guys. Wood Burning brick oven, and really good pasta.

Cafe Bello

This place is full of wise guys too (Otis, OG, CC), so I am not sure that is a good thing.
