However, upper level Division 1 kickers who have done it their whole lives can probably kick it from 60+ off a tee. I'm not downplaying the kid's accomplishment because that's awesome no matter what. But let's get real, if tees were used in college 60+ yarders would be all over the place.

There's probably a handful of 50+ yarders kicked all over the country any given saturday withOUT a tee, it's not really a stretch to think they could get 10 more yards with one.

A tee really isn't what gives you more distance. The big run up on kickoffs is why a kicker can kick farther. Me personally, I can make a 50 yarder off the deck with a normal 3 step drop. With a tee, I don't really add any distance if I still only take 3 steps. The tee helps have ideal conditions for solid contact, but I personally don't think it adds much to distance all else being equal.

That's the most perfect kick I have ever seen in my life.

Trajectory. The linemen are taller in college and the NFL, so most really long kicks would be blocked.

Its safe to say that this kid just shot up the recruiting charts. 67 yard field goal right down the middle. I dont think anybody realizes how hard it is to actually make it, forget getting the distance, the accuracy is unreal. He will pick his school of choice. Good for him!

I doubt he will pick his school based on 1 kick

Yeah because there are so many kids that kick 67 yard field goals out there. This kid will certainly get offers from tons of schools...yes because of one kick!!

There is a lot more to it than just hitting 1 kick

There was a local kid whose dad played at LSU who hit 3 just under 60 in one season (56.56,and 57) and kicked every kick off for touchback but never got a major offer from anyone Because, as his dad put it, they look a lot more at hang time on kick offs than they do at how far you can drive it.

Likewise he said they are looking at a lot of stuff that you don't realize when looking at field goals.

1 kick ain't gonna get him any major school he wants

Case in point: dirk Borgnone

Hit a 68 yarder is high school, wound up at a community college because he never made another Fg ever again in High school

But he sure split the uprights on the 68 yarder he tried

Before the kick, all he had was a partial scholarship offer to Eastern Washington. It will be interesting to see if he does end up going to a bigger college because of this.
