OK, in response to all those who have pointed this out (as if it's the central point of my post), it's established that the article has been available for several days, but I just read it today, when my copy of the magazine arrived.
Anyway, for what it's worth, here are some of my thoughts,in no particular order:
The LSU program does not come off badly. The article points out that Miles has had to deal with these kinds of issues before (an obvious reference to Perrilloux). Miles is quoted about the problems for players leaving childhood friends and influences behind. No implications that anyone on the team knew anything about this or that there is a systemic problem.
Interesting info on Tyrann's background. Didn't know about his father. A lot more from Lucas about Tyrann's situation and progress than I would have expected. (I would have assumed he would be a little more reluctant to talk about someone he's working with.)
Looking at the notorious poster and flyer, it's obvious that anyone could have gotten the photos used from another website. Doesn't mean that Tyrann and other players didn't know about it, but their denials seem plausible, based on the visual evidence.
Article points out that the severity of any violation (and punishment) would depend on how blatantly commerical the offending connection is. From what I can see, this is a pretty two-bit operation and very amateurish. Even if it was found that Tyrann or other players knew what was going on, I can't see this amounting to a huge deal. But, we ARE talking about the NCAA....
Article cites "sources" for the idea that the players had access to a "VIP" area at the club. I saw the interview with the club owner on the web, and he denies there is such an area. Seems like it would be easy to settle this issue. Has anyone on the board ever been there?
Certainly a cautionary tale about how loyalties to the old "posse" can pose problems for people in Tyrann's position.

Sorry, I should have been more specific, and I just fixed my post to reflect that. I know there was lots of discussion about the announcement of the article, and I was following it closely, but that was before the thing actually came out. I'm commenting on the printed article, not the speculation about what it might contain. (If people had access to the complete article before now, I must have missed it.)

You had a good post. Don't let some of these knuckleheads get to you. Some clowns here live to post stupidity like this.

Did you just get the magazine or something? It's been online since the moment the story broke.

Yep...just got it. Didn't know they had posted it early. Oh, well...that doesn't invalidate my observations. I'm just not as quick on the draw as some of you other geniuses.

Uh...really. Sorry guys, but I'm following the team from a distance, and although I read a LOT about the program, I don't have ready access to all the local info. I was aware that the man was in prison, but did not know about his own athletic talents, and I certainly had never read about his relationship with Tyrann.

Dude, the article has been online since like monday. Everyone and their mom has read it.

My mom has not read it and your mom can't read.

Ok Ill catch you up a bit on some other things you may be behind on
Jimmy Graham played Basketball in College
Herman Johnson is the biggest baby ever born in Lousiana
Our current President has a grandmother and she did not get a college education
Im sure those have slipped through the cracks

Thanks for the demonstration of adolescent "I'm-cooler-than-you" arrogance. Feel better now?

Holy shite its brutal in here today. I too didn't know the complete article was online so I guess we both live under a rock. I read it today as well and agree with your points. I also thought it was deceptive of SI to do a human interest story then an attempt to smear TM.

Good post, TigerCard. Apparently your two biggest problems are: (1) you did not know personal information about a former Tiger football player's biological father before you read about it in SI, and (2) you posted something about an article that interested you, even though you were not the first to read it or post something about it. Shame on you. The Rant is hard core.

And not one person can answer your one question, "Has anybody ever been there?"
