Bowhunting with poision?

Anyone do it? Reason i ask is there is a big discussion going on in a mississippi hunting forum over a nice deer that was killed. And in the pic he left his bow on the deer and the pods are very visible and tons of people giving him hell. I personally dont use them an never have. But i really dont care if someone else does. Honestly seems to be quicker on the deer than a 2 hr trail job.

I might or might not have used it to hunt with. But I was a bit nervous if I would have used it

Why nervous? I have heard that the poision would not effect humans.. Because deer are 1000 times more sensitive to it and there isnt enough in a pod to hurt a human. Again ive never used it, this is only my 2nd yr bow hunting. Just wondering y such a fuss. Really does seem like it would be easier on the deer than to suffer if someone makes bad shot

Never done it myself and don't have a problem with anyone who does. In fact my good friend just offered for me to try some when I go hunting with him and I may give it a try.

I have a buddy that had 9 of them a couple of years ago.
I don't see a problem with it.
Been done all over the world for thousands of years.

I didnt see the big deal either but boy o boy are they giving this guy a hard time over his kill. Nice deer, but they cant seem to get past the fact of the pods in the pic hahaha

They're jelly.
I'd love to rig some up. I think my buddy said that his had a muscle relaxer in them.

You know how deer hunters are. Bunch of assholes looking to detract from other hunters' trophies.
I have never heard of this stuff before. Link?

when we used it back in the 70's the bows, arrows and blades were nowhere near as efficient as the ones of today.
not that it makes any difference, still illegal, but i'm on the fence about it.. it allowed some of my friends to take shots that they shouldn't of taken, probly the same thing now.
but, you can argue that it puts a deer down quicker on a good or decent shot.... just a personal decision, i guess...

The NBEF, PBS, P&Y, NFAA & AAC are all opposed to it

I'm up for some entertainment, could you link it?

That means it must work.

I've heard of using poison arrows, but it was always some pigmy in a loincloth rubbing his arrow on a frog. I had no idea they actually made/sold that stuff here.

I've never used pod's
But I personally think it is a good idea. If you've bowhunted for any amount of time than you more than likely have stuck one and werent able to find it. More than likely the deer eventually died perhaps after suffering for some time. Pods eliminate this and ensure a humane kill and ability to retrieve the deer.
Just my opinion

What is the plastic capsule made from?
On the one I saw, I couldn't figure out where the hell that thing came from.

I dont like it, call me a traditionalist but I believe the whole allure of bowhunting is using a stick, string and little more. Theres always someone looking to take a shortcut under the guise of a "more ethical" kill. Pods to me only increase the likelihood of hunters taking questionable shots due to the element of safety provided by the poison.
I mean what next? Explosive tips on rifle bullets? Claymore mines around food plots?
