I hope Pelicans grows on me if it is selected, but I'm not really a fan of it right now. It's definitely better than Angels or Spirit, though.

Pelicans just sounds sooo ridiculous imagine us signing some big name free agent and him saying "Yeah I'm glad to be a Pelican" lol or during a national broadcast "So what do the Pelicans need to do to get back in this game"

Yeah that name is tooo Louisiana and doesn't fit the NBA culture at all. Not to mention how unmarketable that is outside of LA I mean a Pelican is not a sexy animal lol

i don't really care what the new name is...not important to me. It's just a little annoying having to get used to calling them something else because in my mind, they're the Hornets.

Maybe Benson actually wants to keep the Hornets, but wants people to really like it. By proposing three of the shittiest team names I've ever heard (Banana Slugs shitty), I'm starting to really like The Hornets name.

Everyone can identify with Heat though I mean you have to whole fire scheme to play with and everyone nation wide knows Miami is hot.
While a Pelican is goofy name and animal we are severely limiting our nation wide appeal right from the jump
