I am excited that we won the game, but we have to Get TDs when we are 1st and Goal.
We let too many chances and settled for field goals.
The plays that were called on 1st and goal series was horrible.
I give them the TD for the one that Hilliard gave up on though, seems like he should have just lowered his head and pounded it in.

Mett needs to improve on his 3-5yrd fade pass. once he gets that in check i hope to see more variety on the goal line play calling.
even a swing pass to one of the RBs would have been nice to see with SC chocked up on the goal line every time.

We should have easily won this game by 3 touchdowns, we HAVE to get better in the red zone. It bit us in the butt last week against Florida, we got away with it against Auburn and USCe, we won't be able to get away with it against Bama..

Mett had Landry wide open for an easy score on that one slant and go and he threw an awful pass. Jacobs was open on the fade and he threw another awful pass.
IMO, those need to be practiced over and over and over until it becomes as easy as the toss dive.
If this team improves in the red zone we won't lose another game. if we don't improve then we will be in a dog fight every single game.

It really is pathetic that most of you just HAVE to bitch and find something to complain about
None of you know how to enjoy a win.

I agree with this, but USCe has one of the top defenses in the nation. They stepped up preventing us from scoring TDs and settling for FGs. We can't run it 3 times in a row inside the 10 and expect to score on 9 in the box against a d like theirs.

Yeah, it may be the best possible outcome. Win a well contested game against top competition, show great strides in the aspects that needed it most, and still have things to coach up.
I expected the Oline to crumble, but those guys were outstanding. A great defensive front and they showed up in a big way. If those guys can continue to gel and the staff can generate advancement week to week in other offensive aspects then there is reason to feel good about the trajectory they are on.
Week by week we will find out.

I enjoyed the win but it was more like relief. Our coaches are holding us back inside the red zone. Miles played for a FG after a huge turnover and first and goal inside the 10. no other coach in the game would deliberately play for the FG there and a 2 point lead with still 9 minutes left. no excuse for that.
I love these players and I'm rooting hard for them. I'm simply off the MIles bandwagon for good. he is needs to hire some real offensive coaches

I love Landry, but that incompletion was on him. Terrible route. You can't square your hips to the line on a slugo.
The Jacob pass was terrible.

It was a great win. I think the Tigers made it look too easy last year so some fans have unreasonable expectations. We play in the SEC so most games will be difficult. Especially against a high ranked SEC opponent.

I didn't take those comments that way at all.
It was great to see us driving SC's defense all over the field. But a realistic assessment shows that our red zone offense still needs a lot of work.
You can't expect to be a championship caliber team if you have to settle constantly for field goals when you get so close to the goal line.
It was a pretty good effort by the offense, but work still needs to be done. They can build on it.
