Dempsey has been mailing it in for quite a while. I agree that JK has not been able to get the best out of him, or Landon.

I thought Bradley played with composure, especially when taken out in the penalty area.

I would be all for giving Bradley the arm band, his reaction last night to that tackle was pure fire breathing and I wish that passion would rub off on our other players. I feel comfortable knowing we have Bradley in our midfield for the foreseeable future

Yeah as long as he doesn't do anything that will get him carded he can breath fire all day long, maybe our players will stop looking like mettenberger. (lackadaisical)

So the player who's scored three goals in qualifying has mailed it in?

I just think it's classic Dempsey with the national team. He doesn't do anything for 89', and then pops up with a crucial goal. Donovan's good games are always well rounded efforts. If he doesn't have a good game, it's evident the entire time. Dempsey gives up a sloppy pass that leads to an opposing goal, and then 15 minutes later he TOTALLY REDEEMS HIMSELF.

While I do see what you're saying thenry and you're right to an extent. But shouldn't at this point in his career he be showing some real consistency with the USMNT, not knocking him but I guess I just expect too much out of him. His play sometimes makes me wonder is this the same guy who finished 4th in goals in the EPL last year?

Its not like the team is putting in great performances and Dempsey isn't. He needs help. Without Bradley he really has no distribution and he really can't carry this team offensively on his back. Dempsey always puts out 100% every game. I think his performances are more a reflection of the team than Dempsey.

Now you're giving him a bit too much credit because of his name, I've seen plenty of times that he barely seems to try and reach a pass that isn't right at him etc.

Nope. He plays as hard as anyone that puts on the US kit. How could you question Dempsey's work ethic?

I don't think he played that well against Antigua & Barbuda, but I'm not sure what we could have really expected out of him in those two Jamaica games. He hadn't played in months - I was shocked Klinnsman had him go 90 minutes in both games.

I didn't question his work ethic, I'm stating that there are times he's not going 100% during our games, which is true of most everybody but If I had to choose one player that consistently works the hardest (on the pitch) Bradley outstrips them all.

You should really go watch the game from Friday again. He was lazy in long spaces. I'd say normally I would agree with this, but Friday he has bad and lazy.

What does that even mean? He didn't run all out for a long distance? Because that is not what Klinnsmen seems to have him doing. He has Dempsey closer to goal and seems to be playing him more as a striker so he won't track back as much and he is also not the type of player to make runs behind the defense. Sometimes his style seems to make him appear a bit lazy but that is deceiving.

It means for long periods of time he didn't do anything.

Oh you mean like pretty much most of the team? I think Dempsey's performance has more to do with Klinnsman than Dempsey. Plus there is this talk of Dempsey being lazy. Laziness is the one of the main reasons why Jozy wasn't called up. But people were all up in arms about Jozy's exclusion. I don't get it.

Correct. There were at least two times that the ball was passed to him and a little off and he gave zero effort to get them. Then he just stood there as A&B went the other way. He was bad and lazy Friday.

Thank you, that's exactly what I'm talking about with him. He gets frustrated that the passes aren't the quality he is used to in the EPL and just plain out doesn't try to adjust to them. (not all the time.. but it was worse than normal this week)
