LoTR didn't have gay elf sex or a chance for the protagonist to knock up a shape-shifting witch with demon spawn.

I though Skyrim was a epic but severely overrated. Its a huge epic filled place with mindless fetch quests with absolutely no emotion behind.

DA:O looked like shite, wasn't that "epic" at all in scale, but had a better story.

Witcher 2 was so dumbed down in order to fit it on a DVD for the xbox that it seemed to take so much of what the original captured. Not to mention the combat was a joke.

Dragon Age, if i remember correctly, was pretty under radar but I would say that all 3 games were pretty overrated.

You thought Skyrim was epic but DA:O wasn't and you found Witcher 2 to be dumbed down? Whatever floats your boat I guess.

What an odd opinion to have on those games

If you're referring to the gay elf sex and demon pregnancy comment of mine, I was joking. If you were referring to the other guy, well, he's just nuts.

I was referring to the other guy. However, I really enjoyed all the grey area choices you could make in DA:O, I remember there was a situation with one of those temptress demons where you could A. Kill her B. Get an item from her C. Sleep with her. I went with option C once and when you exit her realm your party asks "what happened" and you go...."nuffin"

Really only Witcher 2 has measured up to those kind of choices, most other games might has well be made by disney with the cookie-cutter options they throw out

Dude she had like goat legs and a tail. A pair of tits isn't enough to overcome that. You basically fricked an animal...

While this may be true, there's only so much you can do within the confines of fantasy/epic RPG. I saw similar things (Darkspawn looking a lot like Orcs, Trees that moved/talked). But the differences lie in the origins, backgrounds, and economic placement of the different races. DA:O had elves as basically slaves. Quite different from the respected/revered/feared status they had in LotR. Mages also had a pretty unique story. All in all I thought it was a pretty well executed story. They took what worked from LotR but still made more than enough changes for it to be considered unique in its own right.

That has got to be one of the most contradictory posts I've ever read. How can you be under the radar and overrated at the same time?

ETA: The "under the radar" part is actually wrong. The lowest score any major game-rating magazine/website gave it was an 8.5/10. It won Spike Video Game Awards RPG of the year and PC game of the year in 09. Was chosen as the PC Game of the Year, Best Xbox 360 RPG of the Year, Best Story of the Year, and Best PC Role-Playing Game of the Year by IGN. And won about 6 other awards of the same titles from other sites/magazines. In other words, it was the best RPG of 2009 and widely regarded as so.

You're aware the game was released in 09, correct? Have you even played it on high res on a PC? For back then, DA looked amazing.

Skyrim blows. Nothing but a pretty sandbox to play in with a token of a story thrown on top to say they have one.

Skyrims setting and size of terain was epic. Not much else.

DAO wasn't really epic at all.

Witcher 2 was dumbed down because if you compare it to the first game, which was just on PC it was severely cut down to be able to run on the 360.
Not to mention that combat was just plain bad IMO.

I should say that I played it on the 360. OBviously to get the best you need to play it on PC, but compared to other 360 games, the graphics were terrible.

Likely just another terrible port tho.

Why are you knocking Witcher 2/DA:O for poor graphics? Just because you decided to play on a console doesn't invalidate how good both games look on a PC.

My earlier response if you would care to read:

Don't get all herp derp because I don't agree with your opinion.

I played and completed both games. They were overrated.

Your statement is inconsistent, Witcher 2 is thought of as one of the better looking 360 games (up there with GoW as far as performance). I'm not going going to change your contrary opinion on the games but I will argue when you claim something that off.

Exactly this. DA:O on medium res on a PC is better than the 360 res. Just recently found this out. I'll agree the Xbox graphics are horrid, but that is in no way the fault of BioWare. They made a beautiful game for back then if played on the PC.

This. Witcher two is a very good looking game even on a console. The ONLY knock on W2 was the unresponsive combat system. While that is true, that's about the only thing that wasn't good about the game.

I'm still trying to figure out where I knocked Witcher 2 for the graphics.

I guess I could have been more more specific in my definition of dumbed down, but I think you read my comment about DA:O and thought I was knocking the graphics of Witcher 2.

I am referring to the lack of open world setting when compared to the fist game. It had to be severely cut down to allow for more room for things like the graphics.
