I was a big Bob fan, but he couldn't have led this team to a better win or anything like that tonight. Some things won't change. Island road matches will always suck.
Did he make some questionable personnel choices? Probably.
Does his style irritate at times? Yep.
Is Jurgen a much better HC than Bob? I don't think so.
...but come on, a win's a win.

You seem to be forgetting the Bob matches which needed Connor Casey and others like him to win.

My issue main issue with Jurgen is that he has a terrible eye for talent.
Bob's teams played ugly at times, but not as ugly as Jurgens teams in this round. And the sad thing is that the pool is better now than it was 4 years ago.

Pretty much. Under Bob, we played mostly unattractive soccer, but I felt really confident that we could grind out the result we needed.
Under Klinsmann, we were promised beautiful, free flowing, attacking soccer.... and we're playing (arguably) uglier soccer than before, and I have less confidence that the team can get the result.
More than a year in, I'd love to see some progress, and it just isn't there.

That's only telling half of the story. Yes, we hired him to instill a better attacking game in the national team, and throughout the American soccer landscape. But, we also hired him under the caveat that he would accomplish the same qualifying goals as his American managerial predecessors. Remember that Bob Bradley had a a 100% record during this round of qualifying, until his side of experimental players (Adu and Davies the only real standout names) lost a meaningless final round game in Trinidad.
Klinsmann may even have an easier hexagonal to navigate, if results on Tuesday go his way. I am glad that he's willing to take an Alan Gordon or Eddie Johnson, because, as I've reiterated, the USMNT still needs the "non-technical" MLS players for CONCACAF qualification.

That's like judging Les Miles on only out of conference and bowl games. "Well.... he finished 3-5 in the SEC, but we whipped the shite out of Purdue in the Old Spice Armpit Bowl."
If we didn't hire him to QUALIFY FOR THE frickING WORLD CUP, why is he coaching the national team?
There are probably dozens of roles within US Soccer that don't have that as a specific deliverable.

I know it has been debated on the board a million times but you have to play with what you have. Everyone wants to play like Barca which is all fine and good if you have Iniesta, Messi etc...So far it seems that Jurgen does less with more where as Bob often times did more with less from a results standpoint. Bob got killed for playing "Bradley Ball" but at least he wasn't trying to make the USMNT into something that it cannot be. Hopefully we get the result tomorrow and over time Jurgen's style will pay off in Brazil but right now I'm not seeing it.

If we qualify for the WC, the experiment will have been worth it. Bob had his turn and did well. It was time to try something new. Whether the players exist to make the USMNT into what JK says he wants is still in question, but I don't see how anyone can question the ambition to get to another level.
Would y'all really have wanted Bob to stay on through another WC cycle? Just so we could have had a less stressful qualifying round and Jozy would have been called up?

You're right here. Bob didn't experiment until the group was well in hand. It seems like every game has been an experiment under Klinsmann. But to be fair, that's mainly due to three things: injuries, aging veterans, and getting dual nationals capped. You can't really say that Bob never had any questionable call-ups, either (Bornstein). And let's be honest here, the team going through WCQ the last time around was something special.
Comparing this year to other 3rd round WCQs:

The thing that really looks off this time around is GD, and that's a little misleading. The US has had one 6-0 or 6-1 blowout game skewing GD in the past three WCQs. Other than that, it's business as usual. Give Klinsmann some time before freaking out.
