At this point, what record would prove to you that Les did a great job?

It is time for Les to earn his pay! He gets paid REAL good money to be "one of the best coaches nationally in his 7-1/2 yrs" @ LSU (that was for the Les lovers who defend him).

Okay, he has a 1st yr qb who is supposed to have a plenty of potential. He has lost key players on the o-line & on the defense. However, I thought that we were deep with HIS recruits & this team was pre-season ranked top 5.

So, at this point, what record would show that Les has coached up this team & not just won on talent?

No record necessary. He picks out great ice cream. I see him at Marble Slab in CitiPlace on a regular basis.

Now about football...........

For me it's less about record and more about improvement and ability to adapt

To have coached up and not just relied on talent, Im goint with 13-1. That is what good coaches do, you take all the adversity and you make em play better than anybody would have thought. 13-1 would do that for me and might get both my feet on his bandwagon instead of just one.

That's what is scaring me. It seems like we are getting worse. I watched the 1st 3 qtrs of the UF game again today & we got beat by a qb who could not complete a ball downfield farther than 10 yards.

And, our best drives are in the 1st qtr so I do not see adjustment or improvement, but the Les supporters are going to blame it on something. So I was trying to get a gauge from Tiger fans what they felt were fair expectations.

10-2 would be damn strong. I already think Les is a great coach though. Hard headed but great nonetheless

80-19 so far, he is running the program, hoping for another double digit win season

Well, your post fricking sucks, but I think we all the losses (both to the draft and injuries/suspensions), 10-2 would be a very good season. 11-1 would be fantastic, 9-3 would be a bit disappointing, but overall understandable. Anything less would be a bad job unless we have even more injuries from here on out.

9-3 is my answer

I see stuff like this talk of all the "great talent" and wonder if folks will ever recognize that this talent level is often fed to the fans by reporters who have never buckled a chin strap.

It's tough to evaluate how a kid is going to do when he gets to the big time. Maybe...just maybe...the experts have been wrong about LSU's overall talent level. Exhibit A...Russell Shepard.

You were correct

13-1

11-2 would be a very good coaching job
10-3 would be good, considering the adversity
9-4 would be average, which is not what we are paying for
8-5 or worse is obviously unacceptable
