Yes, I know it's football season. IDGAF. Basketball starts tonight and you're not shaming me over little bit of good I can derive from my sports teams right now (Bucs, UK Football, Redlegs).
But for shite's and giggles, the ESPN schedule:
-- Indiana with Jay Williams and Dan Dakich (ESPN3 at 5 ET)
-- NC State with Bruce Pearl (ESPN3 at 7 ET)
-- St. John's with Tarik Turner (ESPN3 at 7 ET)
-- Florida State with Jacob Ridenhour (ESPN3 at 7 ET)
-- Kentucky with Jimmy Dykes (ESPN3 at 7:30 ET)
-- North Carolina with Doris Burke (ESPN3 at 7:30 ET)
-- Syracuse with Dino Gaudio (ESPN3 at 8 ET)
-- Missouri with Stephen Bardo (ESPN3 at 8 ET)
-- Pittsburgh with Bill Raftery (ESPN3 at 10 ET)
-- Georgetown with Tim Welsh (only on ESPNU)
-- Maryland with Len Elmore (only on ESPNU)
-- Baylor (men and women) with Fran Fraschilla (only on ESPNU)
-- Murray State with Miles Simon (only on ESPNU)
-- Kansas with Sean Farnham (only on ESPNU)
-- ESPNU Midnight Madness whip-around/UNITE Madness special (9 p.m. ET to 1 a.m. ET)

Anybody else watching their teams tonight?

God damned football fans.
It's the first "official" time college basketball teams can practice together. It's the start of the season. They used to start it at midnight but since they've changed the time to 8:00pm that prompts the " ".
Think first public fall practice in football.

I'm surprised some people have never heard of this
Posted on 10/12/12 at 6:08 pm to BluegrassBelle
Do they always have it at Alumni? Or is it ever at Rupp?
Posted on 10/12/12 at 6:08 pm to sms151t
It's been at Rupp for awhile now. There's roughly 24,000 there tonight. Tickets were gone in about 30 minutes.

I always thought it was an actual game, or at least an exhibition. Just practice?
Posted on 10/12/12 at 6:13 pm to BluegrassBelle
No, unfortunately. I hate espn3

When I was at SMS we had a student die of heart attack in 3 on 3 tourney we never had it again. Alford was like WTH is going on.
We just came back from our annual arse whipping at UNI and I went over to get that stuff ready and the kid was laying on the floor. It was a wtf moment.

They'll have a small scale scrimmage. It's more about the pomp and circumstance. And it's a pretty big recruiting tool.
You all used to have one too.

Maybe you guys can win another championship if you do it again.

they are cool at the cool places. kentucky and kansas are the 2 best late night places to be. also probably the 2 that take it the most seriously. recruits ooh and ahhh over this shite and those 2 schools do it fricking right. everyone else is kinda meh. georgia kinda has one now but it sucks so no one goes.

Or even back to back again, something that UK hasn't done in the modern era.
