Look! An actual post about the game and not some Rantard bitching about their birthright of 14-0 and crystal! :)

I suspect this thread won't go well though...

If they try to use them, the umpire will just tackle them again.

If they can get away with it maybe LSU should watch some film and do something similar to open up the passing game.
But then again, LSU can't seem to teach WR how to line up properly.

Yes, a slew of SEC teams are all about the same.

Last undefeated season: 1958
Before that: 1908

Keep the bar high, but keep it realistic.

It will never be called unless it's blatant. And by blatant I mean one of the DB's will have to get knocked on his arse.

This is almost never called in CFB.

i'm not talking about MY expectations, just about the COLLECTIVE expectations i've deduced from the Rant… thus, trying to explain why people post the way the do at times like this….

I'd like to see us try some of these tactics. But that would require us pass protecting well enough to send out more than one wide receiver option at a time with a somewhat complicated route tree. We are limited on what we can even try right now with our pass protection issues.

No one in the country runs the underneath routes off of picks like Spurrier does. Gonna be a tough day if our offense is sputtering again and can't get our D off the fricking field.

Exactly. This is the kind of stuff I'd love to see LSU incorporate within its offense. There are ways to design routes that set up "natural" picks without getting flagged for it. Like you said, unless a WR runs slap arse into a DB with clearly zero intention of actually looking to get the ball, it isn't going to get called. Some may call it dirty play, but I think it's just excellent coaching and route design.

It's a small thing that could lead to big results, and it doesn't take changing the offense into some type of "Madden" video game offense to do so.

I generally wait for LSU to start losing before making up my excuses. But that's just me.

He's been doing it since the 80's and no one's called it.

Picks on crossing routes and push offs on fade routes are staples of Spurrier's "scheme".
