By the time Drew is done the streak will be like 70 games....it wont be getting broke any time soon

In reality, I think Brees would rather be 4-1 right now without getting the record, than vice versa!

That makes absolutely no sense. If Drew was relying on Mark Ingram more, we would be winning more? We had the most prolific passing attack in NFL history last year, why wouldnt we use it?

I guess if Drew wasn't being so selfish in Superbowl XLIV throwing those two touchdown passes chasing records, the Saints would have won...

I don't know. Brees may extend it a bit. What active player has the second longest streak? Easier in a dome too...at least half your games.

I agree with Bradshaw on this point. These guys were suspended and not to have any contact, why is it allowed for Bree's to petition the NFL. If the NFL declines they're the "bad guys" if they give in they're not doing their job.

I get the record part of it, but what if it was the Cowboys asking this, would Saint fans be so quick to back the decision to ask?

They already were and still are the bad guys, don't blame Brees for Goodell being a pussy

Don't blame Goodell for this. Blame the Saints.

It was first brought up as salary cap deal which is the managements job to stop not the players.

I am saying he would rather have team success than a personal record. You probably mis read...maybe I didn't word it well.

well...for starters, its assinine that Goodell can keep Payton, Loomis, and Vitt out of the Superdome as SPECTATORS.

Its not like Brees asked for them to be in the locker room or on the sidelines.

They were in a suite....doing nothing but watching.

It's going to take a player over 3 years to reach the record as it stands now.

Who knows what number this record will end up as

Goodell has no authority over salary cap issues

The owners do and Goodell works for the owners.

Only 4 QBs are even in double-digits

Brees 48
Brady 37
Ryan 20
Manning 12

Yes, Brady being so close does diminish the wow factor of the record a little bit (as did him being so close in yards last year) but it is still an incredible record.

anyone who isn't a whiny bitch wouldn't care about a couple of guys sitting in the stands watching a guy they coached...regardless of whatever team they played for....I mean who gives one flying frick.

No...I like Brees and think he would rather have team success than individual success, but the way the record was handled seemed wrong to me...excessive...at the time. I understand what Terry is saying! AND I am being passive-aggressive again!
