"I was a little upset that (Brees) went to the NFL to get (suspended coach Sean) Payton and everybody back to watch him break a record," Bradshaw said in an interview with WFAN in New York. "I'm like, 'Are you kidding me?' I never would have gone and asked for them back ... I thought it was disrespectful to the San Diego Chargers. ... So break it, go ahead. Hell, you're throwing it 50 times a game ... I'm just against stuff like that. I just don't believe in doing stuff like that."

This is what ultimately turned me off of the Saints & Brees, their egotistical pursuit of records

They arent going out there just trying to break records. If a record gets broken while they are playing ball though its still a big deal.. I think this record was just a big one because it hadnt been broken in idk.. 50 years?

It's a record that has a chance to never be broken again once Brees snaps his own.

I heard it live and he was not ripping them he just disagreed with...he also said over and over again he was from Louisiana and loves the Saints and Drew...just not something he would do.

and after Joe and Evan agreed that he was ripping Drew and the Saints he is just old school and things are done differently today

You throw touchdown passes to put points on the board and hopefully win games. How was this an egotistical pursuit of a record?

The record) didn't blow me away," Bradshaw said. "I'm not much on that stuff ... I'm not into records, fellas. I'm just into winning football games. (The Saints) hadn't won a game ... I'm not into records, I'm into winning Super Bowls ... These things aren't important. We lose sight of why we play. We play to win and to win championships, not to break records."

Big surprise coming from Terry.

Brees wanted the people who have had a big part in his success to be there when he achieved a great accomplishment...egotistical?

It would be different if it were Brady or Manning breaking the record? They wouldn't want their coaches to be there?

Not like Terry doesn't mention his super bowl rings just about every single time he is on a talkshow.

Yea, Drew only has the NFL record for completion percentage in a season. He must be overrated to throw the ball 500+ a season and still hold that record..

I just don't see something to take a isdue with here. He wanted his teammates, people close to him to see him break a big record? Ok, don't we all?

I agree completely with Bradshaw...it was made into too big a deal. The Saints were 0-4. I was disappointed in Brees and Payton is a suspended coach...he should have watched from home...lack of class!
