Ok break it down for me. With the list YOU gave tell me how many conference titles each coach won.

Osbourne Edwards and Bowden have won 10+
Switzer Spurrier Petersen McKay have won 5+
Meyer has won 4(in 6 less seasons than Saban)
Paterno won 3(during his prime Penn St was obviously an independent)
Synder has won 1 at arguable the worst football program in division 1.

Saban wasn't horrible in the NFL not why people think he was a Spurrier/Petrino type bust

I will give you Paterno because of what he did for all those years.

well....

OK so we have Osbourne
Bowden
Spurrier[Barely]
Mckay
Paterno
SABAN

TOP FIVE. You are young and it shows. Saban is doing something NOW that is amazing. It was a whole lot different back when the other coaches coached. ITS WAY tougher to be AS GOOD NOW as back then.FACT.

PJ you know there are several other coaches with pretty impressive credentials to round out a top 5 or 10 of all time. You're just baiting him because some of the names on his list are retarded.

What? He could tie Bear Bryant for most National titles, and he may be the best recruiter/developer of talent in CFB history.

Meyer's career record without Tebow is 62-13 which FYI is better than Saban's career coaching record

EDWARDS?

Yeah all he did was take BYU an awful program and turn them in to one of the "winningest" teams of the 80's.

PETERSEN?

Just looking at the last 20 years.

Urban Meyer, Pete Carroll, Stoops and Osborne are both at roughly 81% winning %.

Bowden and Paterno are mid-70's.

Saban is in the low 70's with Tressel and Spurrier.

Below them is Mack Brown.

Just for comparison.

You can't spout MNC's like you can Super Bowls for Belichick. You just can't. Too much luck and opinion play a factor.

Case in point: Only ONE of Saban's 3 BCS Titles was undefeated...other teams could have taken his teams place in the big game and other teams could have won.

Half of Saban's 6 losses at Alabama have come to the eventual national champion. Alabama would have had to have won 4 of the last 5 national titles to have won just 3 SEC titles. Let that sink into your thick skull so that you can maybe comprehend how difficult it has been to win an SEC title the last 8 years.

But they didn't. He's literally assembling a machine that will not slow down as long as 2010-like meltdowns don't happen. Every year everyone is going to realize this in the preseason. As long as Saban is here, Bama is the number one team every year until proven otherwise. No other coach can claim that.

And going back to Saban sucking in the NFL...so? Coaching in the NFL isn't harder than coaching in college, it's just different. A lot of successful NFL coaches probably wouldn't have been as good as Saban has been/will be in college.

Do you doubt that? We were supposed to be too young this year. We were supposed to be inexpereinced.

It didn't matter. We came back with a team that arguably has more talent than last year's.

No, but you have to put things in perspective. What's his name who preceded Petersen at Boise State and ran the Colorado program into the ground barely lost at Boise State. Having a dominant program in a sh#### conference isn't as impressive as doing it in a conference that is having a run like the SEC is. Saban and Alabama in their WORST year in the last 5 years beat Big Ten co-champ Michigan State 49-7 in 2010. To put that in perspective, Alabama finished 4th in the SEC West that year. In other words, not all winning runs are created equal. Your competition makes a big difference.
