I thought Sandusky was the pedo, not Paterno? I have no ill-will toward Paterno.

Would have been well-deserved embarrasment. Hopefully someone is skull-fricking his rotten corpse right now.

Neither. My hatred is reserved for the man responsible, Sandusky. I think hating Paterno just became the popular or cool thing to do so everybody jumped onto the bandwagon. From the beginning, I have highly doubted the sincerity of those hating on Paterno. Unlike most sheep, I think for myself.

Nah, man, you have to make sure that your outrage is greater than the person who posted before you, because that's the way of the internet.

Forget facts. Forget context. Forget logic and reason.

Grab your pitchfork! Light your torch! OUTRAGE!!! OUTRAGE!!!

It doesn't matter that Sandusky will die in prison! The judge didn't give him 30,000,000 years, which is barely enough to satisfy my outrage! Therefore, I'm going to wish EVIL things on him in order to prove to everyone else that my outrage is greater than their outrage. I think I'll include something about digging up Paterno and defacing his grave so that everyone knows that I'm outraged at him, too. Maybe a reference to burning Penn State to the ground and punching every alum in the throat would be appropriate, too.

OUTRAGE!!!

Haha, you nailed it. The irrationality of others makes it easier for those of us who are rational to succeed in life.

See...this is where the story loses me. If McQueary was so appalled by what he saw in the showers that day then why didn't he report it to the police after it was apparent that Paterno was going to do nothing? And, if McQueary was so disgusted by Sandusky, why was he his partner at a golf tournament less than a year later?

I won't pretend to know the answers. They are good questions, I wouldn't be surprised if there was some kind of assistance to McQueary that we don't know about; maybe we will never know. This is pure speculation as I have no idea whatsoever.

Paterno had the opportunity to turn Jerry in and didnt do it.

He could have easily ended that shite, maybe not Jerry molesting some kids, but using Penn State to his advantage. Joe knew what was up and did nothing. Dude was a peice of shite. He cared more about Penn state than he did trying to prevent little boys getting fricked in the arse and stopping their lives from being ruined.

Paterno would have likely axed him. Paterno was a kingpen.

Being promised a job might have something to do with that. If that's what happened. We do know he was a GA at the time but that wasn't the case for long.

We know he knew. You actually believe he was that naive to the situation?
