That makes sense, I'm just surprised that everyone else changed their minds so quickly about it. But I do see Jax trying to become a different kind of gangster, like Nero and Pope. Lots of power, and minimal danger. However, I don't know if it will be possible until Clay is dead. The home invasions, controlling the nomads, and very deceptive politics at the table (urging the vote on the escort service), all says to me that he wants Jax to fail miserably.
It will be interesting to see what happens when the sherriff finds out that the skin under his wife's fingernails came from someone in the club.

But what skin will they find under her finger nails? They were covered pretty well, no flesh for her to sink her nails into.

if clay is behind the home invasions what was the point of framing a group of black guys and then sending them out to do another?
