I guess people think this makes it a concussion???

cause it doesn't fwiw

you can be knocked loopy without sustaining a concussion......that's why they have test

and this test was/is fine. no different than what is the score or what quarter is it

if he answered the 3 ?'s spot on what's the issue???

actually the American Academy of Neurology defines a concussion as "a trauma-induced alteration in mental status that may or may not involve loss of consciousness." (Source LINK)
So his loss of balance and inability to run back to the side line is technically a concussion...

yeah i got one in high school after getting elbowed in the face and failed pretty quickly questions were quite similar though

Yea I had one when I was 11 and remember being asked questions easier than that and failing hard.

Serial 7's (100-7-7-7) is actually a good cognitive screening task. People with brain abnormalities really struggle with it. Though if there are other indications of a potential injury, such as balance problems, further testing beyond these few screening items should be done.

Ok, so to be clear if I struggle with which sideline my team is on and have difficulty walking upright, but I can calculate some simple math after a head to head collision I'm good to go.

and that sounds like my third and final concussion.

I got blindsided on kickoff coverage as I was going to try and break the wedge near the end of our next to last game of the year. Teammates said I claimed I was fine even though I didn't get up for a few seconds.

later at dinner, they said I went through the cafeteria line, picked up my food, set it down at our table and wandered off. 10 minutes later I came back with a second tray with the exact same stuff and got pissed that somebody (as in me) was sitting in my chair and started bitching at them for not saving me spot and for running to dinner and leaving me behind.

Two of them had to drag me to the nurse to get checked out b/c I didn't believe that I had gotten dinner twice. (this was at a prep school if any are wondering why we were having dinner at the school cafeteria)

I'm really lucky I had friends like that b/c who knows how badly I could have messed myself up if I had tried to go to practice that week.

This happened right around when Aikman was making news for all his concussions which helped me decide it wasn't worth the risk to play my senior season since that was my 3rd in 2 years of playing and my 2nd that season.

I got concussed one time. Friend woke me up and asked me what I ate for breakfast, I told him I hadn't eaten breakfast yet. We went straight to the hospital.

Friends wouldn't let me drink anymore of the trip tho.

Yeah, pretty risky on their part. It's the second hit aftera concussion that usually does the damage. He should have been evaluated at a hospital and would have likley been held from contact 1-2 weeks.
